I don't like this guy or the "Jew" tone of the whole thing but am interested in what those who are more knowledgeable about such things have to say about the tone of the message and what the Asian Dr. has to say. I am not an anti vaxer, just a confused citizen.

Edit: I do believe there's a lot of human guinea pig stuff going on though.

some temporary? good news:
uk 7 day infection dropped precipitously in the last 4-7 days. they test a great deal more than we do per capita, so their per capita raw numbers will be higher on infections. they vaxxed a much greater % of adults but few kids.

there's also lag possibility in testing figures day to day. but uk in their waves has yet to signal a false trend. will know more in a week.
at less than 1/5 our size, deaths went all the way down under 10 and now sit over 60.

Anyone ask the good doctor how the flu vaccine works or doesn’t? Anyone know why there is a disproportionate number of unvaccinated people in hospitals now? Probably all lies.

Bahkdi is a nutcase, spouting dangerous misinformation right from the start of the pandemic.

Initially claimed that the pandemic was a "fake" (oops) and then moved on to predicting total failure of vaccines, wouldn't work because he claims, as he says in the video, that a respiratory virus infects the lungs while the antibodies are in the blood and never the twain shall meet or effect one another (and the immune response).

I'll let someone far more versed in the science of how and why the vaccine works explain more precisely that aspect, but it's now extremely clear that it indeed does work at making the impact of any infection from exposure be much more mild than without the vaccine, further reducing the likelihood of creating sufficient viral load to spread it beyond oneself (not impossible, just much less). The most important aspect is how the immune system recognizes and responds to the spike protein and suppresses responses that overload other systems...leading to hospitalization and death.

But hey, why care about the actual data, Bahkdi?

And he repeats the quite unsubstantiated claim that the vaccines are causing untold deaths around the world...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sucharit_Bhakdi

This is exactly the sort of disinformation that really needs to be quashed.
But wow, the a-hole is really something...

don't know how good gottlieb is at making epidemiology predictions, who informs him or whatevs, but none of that has stopped him from making them:

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/07/26/dr-scot ... idappshare

taking a cue from the uk, sees peak now potentially in 3 weeks. a week ago he thought end aug/early sept and a week or 2 before that end september. so it's not just recent uk he's looking at. would be good for everybody if we were seeing declining cases as school gets back. the kids need a break. year 3.

That would be welcome news. North Carolina stats from yesterday are 8.6% daily % positive tests, 5444 reported new cases in the last three days (compared to 837 27 through 30 days ago), and 943 current statewide hospitalizations compared to 374 on June 26.

My wife just had a co-worker die of Covid.

Mid 50s, lived in a red state, un-vaxed. Generally healthy.

Husband and wife both got Covid, both hospitalized, husband survived and wife died.

Like many things, the adults are the problem. I will happily wear a mask and take a shot if it has a chance to help kids get back to normal. Oh well…..Fauci can’t tell people what to do….

a week ago, israel said they had a study showing possible waning protection in the 30's%. not long prior to that, 64%. now posting down to 16% for jan inoculations. yikes. 40% drop per month.
not sure if we're talking antibody measured drops or there's data on #s being infected mixed in. no word yet? on serious sickness/hosp/ death protection drop.
though it's not surprising, my guess is this will be a large part of the conversation not too far down the line. and then... how quick could a modified (if that's what's needed) booster be done and approved, and then of course distributed.

To Defeat Delta Variant, Experts Recommend Doing All The Things That Didn't Work The First Time
July 26th, 2021

U.S.—To defeat the massive, scary, definitely world-ending wave of COVID being driven by the delta variant of the deadly, frightening disease you should remain afraid of for the rest of your life, experts are recommending we try all the things that didn't work the first time.

From wearing masks and social distancing to locking everyone down and destroying the economy, experts are all suggesting that we just try the same things we did last time that didn't work at all.

"We are going to lock down, wear masks, and social distance, all of which didn't work, but hey. It's worth trying again," said Dr. Anthony Fauci in a television interview this morning. "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. That's what they taught us in science school. Look at my lab coat. It's white. Do you like it? It has pockets."

The television anchor then assured Dr. Fauci that his pockets were very nice.

"Thanks. I also have the heartbeat thingy. I like to breathe on it to warm it up. Makes me look official and doctory and whatnot."

At publishing time, experts had clarified that while we're going to be doing the same things that didn't work over and over again, we're going to be doing them harder this time.

and this is supposed to be funny in some way?
I've lost my sense of humor on the topic of a virus killing people and other people not caring.

Its not humor, it's satire.

Some humor is satire. Not all satire is humor.

Satire also uses irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues.

Nothing has worked. It’s obvious to me. All of these measures taken and folks are still contracting the virus. If mitigation efforts worked, there wouldn’t be any cases. It’s as simple as that.
