Re: Johns Hopkins 2023
I understood the "impression" in the first sentence of that paragraph to carry through into the second and third sentences. And, yes, Charles Village has improved, while Baltimore has not. But remember that University City has greatly improved, and New Haven has also. As for the impression of greater academic work required versus more prestigious schools, that was the impression lax players had in my day, admittedly a while ago.
Be in their flowing cups freshly rememb'red.

Thing is, Harvard is a fun place. Harvard Square, the IOP at the Kennedy School, Hasty Pudding, etc. … Harvard lax is improving. Yale winning a national title probably awoke the sleeping giant of college lacrosse.44WeWantMore wrote: ↑Sat Feb 04, 2023 5:08 pm I understood the "impression" in the first sentence of that paragraph to carry through into the second and third sentences. Some felt it was deserved last yearSagittarius A* wrote: ↑Sat Feb 04, 2023 10:42 amLiterally no one thinks that. JK has been the bright spot so far.primitiveskills wrote: ↑Sat Feb 04, 2023 10:03 amI must have missed the "Koesterer stinks" contingent. Is there anyone who honestly thinks that?
Dylan Bauer has some game.
Hoping Marcille starts tonight.
Kid deserves a shot.

like I said, two side of that coin.jhu06 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 04, 2023 4:47 pm Charles Village is not an inner city slum. I'm sorry to disappoint you and them. Hopkins is a wonderful school, most college students could pass a poli sci or history major especially w/all the academic resources available to students.
As for the "eat their own" stuff. These kids are coming to a d1 school, getting $ in many cases, on national tv every week and playing at the sports winningest program, this isn't a patriot league program that gets a few hundred fans, an acc or big ten program where the half dozen basketball managers and football quality control coaches are bigger names on campus. If the kids can't handle getting chirped on a forum when they don't play well they obviously don't have the mental makeup for a place like Hopkins the way some pro athletes aren't tough enough for New York or Philly.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2023
You seem to be confusing the impression of w reality. Have you looked at the PD stats for Charles Village and the surrounding neighborhoods? I lived on the 2900 block of Guilford, the 3000 and 2900 blocks of Calvert and the 2900 block of Maryland Ave. CV is not a slum. I have not seen anyone here say it is. It is adjacent to some very poor neighborhoods; a proximity that gives rise to crime. Hopkins is getting ready to deploy a private police force. One of my roommates was stabbed in the chest in the middle of the day on the 3100 block of Calvert St. 25th street used to be fairly safe. Slum no, crime problem yes. Baltimore itself has a poor national image. The issue is bigger than just CV.jhu06 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 04, 2023 4:47 pm Charles Village is not an inner city slum. I'm sorry to disappoint you and them. Hopkins lost out on several players 2 of them to Bill’s Princeton teams bcs of the perception of workload and the perception the hardest part of HYP was the admission.

More of that from Grimes, please
Re: Johns Hopkins 2023
Grimes,
keep doing that, out of the box and to the goal,
better on the shot placement, though.

Marcille solid so far. Both teams' shooting leaves a lot to be desired.
