Something interesting happening in Ann Arbor tonight, late 3rd Qtr.
Same Party, Different House

And UM has won only 2 of 22 faceoffs. Strange.WOMBAT, Mod Emeritus wrote: ↑Fri Apr 26, 2019 7:35 pm Something interesting happening in Ann Arbor tonight, late 3rd Qtr.
A 6-6 Hopkins lacrosse team making the 2019 b1g tournament because an 0-4 in conference michigan team beat an 8-3 ohio state squad is the most 2019 hopkins lacrosse thing I can think of. Petro and Fortress CLC are probably thinking "this is exactly why we joined the b1g, up those message board traditionalists". Feel the rhythm, feel the rhyme, hey everyone its cornell willis Hopkins lacrosse spirit animal time!WOMBAT, Mod Emeritus wrote: ↑Fri Apr 26, 2019 7:53 pmAnd UM has won only 2 of 22 faceoffs. People would complain about it obviously, but the rest of the bubble this year is really weak. Hop has good numbers (RPI and SOS) and no bad losses. It wouldn't be the greatest resume, no, but pretty much every team on the bubble has major flaws.44WeWantMore wrote: ↑Fri Apr 26, 2019 8:26 pm
If the Jays beat Maryland tomorrow, they would be 7-6, so they can lose in the first round and be technically eligible. But, then can you really justify an at-large with a .500 and only one signature win (probably part of a split against UMD)?
If the Blue Jays beat Maryland and then lose their B1G tournament game, they will be a long-shot 7-7 squad who will almost certainly miss the NCAA tournament.genghiskhanbluejay wrote: ↑Fri Apr 26, 2019 8:36 pm AND If they beat Maryland tomorrow night and win the first round game of the big10 tournament they’re a lock to get into the NCAA tourney.
If they they lose to MD they need to win two to take the tourney
Sooo either way they’re 2 wins in a row from going to the tournament.
Winning 2 in a row isn’t Climbing Mt Everest stuff so we have a shot.
Where we disagree doc. For once, you're the pessimist of the group.DocBarrister wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 12:59 am
If Hopkins beats Maryland and wins only their first round B1G tournament game, they will be an 8-7 bubble team needing lots of help.
I would not complain if the 7-7 Jays with only one signature win (part of a split against UMD) miss. But, an 8-7 Jays team that has beaten UMD twice, with no bad losses, then I would complain.DocBarrister wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 12:59 amIf the Blue Jays beat Maryland and then lose their B1G tournament game, they will be a long-shot 7-7 squad who will almost certainly miss the NCAA tournament.genghiskhanbluejay wrote: ↑Fri Apr 26, 2019 8:36 pm AND If they beat Maryland tomorrow night and win the first round game of the big10 tournament they’re a lock to get into the NCAA tourney.

Only assured path to the NCAA tournament for this Hopkins team will be the AQ.

Well, I’d complain: They should NOT be in this 6-6 position in the first place.44WeWantMore wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 8:30 amI would not complain if the 7-7 Jays with only one signature win (part of a split against UMD) miss. Of course, while it might not be Everest, winning two in row from UMD this year is not where the smart money will be.
Sorry, what I meant would be I will not complain about the selection committee if the Jays were not selected at 7-7 after splitting a pair against UMD.WOMBAT, Mod Emeritus wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 12:47 pmWell, I’d complain: They should NOT be in this 6-6 position in the first place.44WeWantMore wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 8:30 amI would not complain if the 7-7 Jays with only one signature win (part of a split against UMD) miss. Hmm. “First Place”.
That’s what they are great at and deserve First Place in this year: Underachieving and Sucking.
Can’t play a full 60 minutes. Giving up huge leads.
Porous defense.
Insanity - keep doing the same things over and over again.
Oh, I know. Just trying to find another frustrating angle to be frustrated about.44WeWantMore wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 5:05 pmSorry, what I meant would be I will not complain about the selection committee if the Jays were not selected at 7-7 after splitting a pair against UMD.WOMBAT, Mod Emeritus wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 12:47 pmWell, I’d complain: They should NOT be in this 6-6 position in the first place.44WeWantMore wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 8:30 amI would not complain if the 7-7 Jays with only one signature win (part of a split against UMD) miss.
