Alyssa Guido named head coach at Colgate.

Good hire. Hope they give you a long leash and flexibility on transfers. Their last 2 recruiting classese were at the bottom 2 or 3 of patriot league

I actually thought their last class was good. Three kids from the Grizzlies. A Steps, Capital and MA Elite kid. Not bad for a team that was having such issues. Would say they fall after the big three and then Lehigh and Holy Cross but far ahead of American, BU, Bucknell and Lafayette. No idea how Guido was and if she was at Drexel when Hillier imploded but she seems like she has a good pedigree.

I've seen most of these girls play. I think they have 2 really good recruits -- the defender from Darien and attacker from Steps CA. They girl from Steps NJ is solid. I think the rest struggle to see the field for a top-half Patriot league team.

Florida just posted an assistant coach job yesterday. Christina Esposito going to Clemson. Landyn White also going to Clemson.

I have read where Florida State lot approximately $2.5 million on men's football -- that ha a lot to do with their efforts to leave the ACC -- and recently the SE andBIG conferences stated they would not look into adding teams from the ACC while litigation is going on. Football pays for the non-revenue sports -- so that might have something to do with whether or not Florida State is hiring a big time name for the WLAX program. Any one here know anything about this?

I stand by what I said. You may know something I don’t. I was told the final selection was made, those who interviewed were notified of the final selection, and to expect the announcement to go public this week. If you know the final selection has now declined then that would change the timeline.

Received an email invite yesterday from FSU boosters for an event on Tuesday July 30 at 1 introducing new WLAX Coach. Looks like it’s happening…Go Noles!

Their selection will tell us all we need to know about their level of commitment and seriousness about the program.

An ACC school “should” be hiring a current successful head coach or a top flight assistant from a top 5 program. Anything short of that shows their lack of commitment watered down the pool of applicants or they didn’t want to pay one of the two options above. This should not be an $80,000 hire that goes to a Patriot League assistant. This should be a $150,000-$200,000 hire they goes to a current head coach with a track record of success or a BC/NW/MD etc top assistant.

At this point, what would be the inaugural season given this is coming so late? Assume they will load up for that initial season with a ton of transfers (assume that will include 2025ss decommitting) and assume whoever this coach is has been watching 26's this summer to start making offers in Sept.
