Perhaps this is a byproduct of Tufts "out Amhersting" Amherst?

Now hearing that because of concerns around the Coronavirus; the NESCAC schools are kicking around the idea of privatizing all games moving forward for at least for the short term. Meaning no spectators would be allowed to attend; only Players and Coaches. It’s also been floated that since NY is now declared a “State of Emergency” it would prevent any New York based institution from playing/participating outside the state. For the NESCAC that would only affect Hamilton; does this mean all the teams that would be hosting the Colonels now have to travel to Hamilton to play? Does CT College have to play their home game on the road 4 plus hours away?

Any Updates on the situation or anyone with more/better information; please share…. :?:

Fairly certain Amherst has copied the tufts brand since the jumbos started playing their up tempo style

Hamilton's game at Hartwick tomorrow has been canceled. I don't know which side canceled it, but it is off.

The "masterminds" behind the USILA poll might be getting a little ahead of themselves when it comes to Ursinus and CNU. Ursinus at #6 is a huge reach. This is a team that had a good win against Stevenson, and a decent win against CNU (yes I am aware that CNU just beat Stevenson). While they are 5-1, they only beat a terrible Mary Washington team by 5. Moving forward to CNU, they are also ranked too high (albeit not as egregiously as Ursinus). CNU barely beat a very mediocre Hampden Sydney team, and squeaked a good win vs Stevenson. These should cancel out in my book. Would prefer to see Ursinus in the 11-13 range, and CNU in the 17-20 range. Fortunately for all of us, CNU has some real tests coming up in Lynchburg, Dickinson, and W&L. I think they beat Dickinson, and lose to both Lynchburg and W&L. Once this happens, they will drop accordingly and Ursinus' win over CNU will carry less weight (as it should).

Don't see many other glaring issues. I do still believe Lynchburg is better than 17, but understand why they are currently placed in that position. Their next few weeks of lacrosse should correct that as I see them easily going 2-1, and perhaps even 3-0 vs CNU, St. Lawrence, and Stevenson (although FO's have proved to be their achilles).

MARCH 6, 2020

Message from NESCAC Presidents regarding athletics competitions:

To the NESCAC athletic community:

The NESCAC presidents have been discussing COVID-19 on athletics, among many other issues our campuses are addressing as a result of the virus. The situation will continue to change and our decisions will be dictated by the facts as we understand them, the guidance we receive from federal and state public health and governmental authorities, and issues specific to each campus. Several schools in the conference have restricted travel to states that have declared a state of emergency, and it may be that more join them before long. The NESCAC presidents will continue to consult regularly and provide support to one another, with the primary concern being the health and well-being of our campus communities.

Bowdoin has banned travel to any places under state of emergency, not sure of any one else official as yet

That seems like a crazy decision at this point. How many others will make that same decision?

Too bad. A small college in the middle of nowhere seems like the perfect place to ride it out.

Outrageous move from the NESCAC's most pretentious member. I would imagine a domino effect to take place given the nature of the NESCAC. Not good
