I don't understand either...youth, you live closer to PG county...this was 5 years ago, so did Hogan do anything, find anything...anyone get fired?

I'd think that if the accusations are correct, it would be something we'd hope that the Hogan Admin would address.

Dear Prince George’s County Public Schools Community,

In June, a majority of the Prince George’s County Board of Education and I requested an audit by the Maryland State Department of Education of high school graduation rates throughout Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS). Given the nature of the claims, we believed an external performance audit would serve to address key concerns and identify key areas for improvement. The seven-week audit concluded October 31, 2017.

Audit findings released today do not support allegations that any systemic direction was given to change grades or artificially increase graduation rates. The audit also reports no evidence of system-wide intimidation or fraud related to the allegations.

Improving high school graduation rates is the right goal for our school system. A high school diploma is the gateway to better opportunities and brighter futures.

Oh I know, just grumbling about many legitimate issues with the infrastructure of the city of Atlanta. Metro system blows and is useless and Kasim Reed blew $1Bn of the ARRA money on a ridiculous above ground rail that serves nothing of value. Just complaining because for all it’s benefits there’s a lot of legit mismanagement down here. Really no relationship to PG County which for those that don’t know while it ain’t Montgomery Co there’s many nice portions it isn’t all below the Anacostia River.

Never saw a Dean who I became close with that was quiet and super empathetic bug out quite so much (very thoughtful roundabout answering older guy from Dartmouth, for MD, named Clarence Butler). We all tired with applause, or whimpered depending on how the night before went-I was nursing a messed up elbow from falling through a glass coffee table the night (4am) before…

At least 16 historically Black colleges and universities in the U.S. said they received bomb threats Tuesday, disrupting classes or causing them to be canceled.

On Monday, at least five other HBCUs said they received threats. So far, no bombs have been found. There were 100 HBCUs in 2019, according to the National Center for Education Statistics.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation said Tuesday that it is aware of the bomb threats around the U.S. and is working with law-enforcement partners. It declined to say how many threats have been made.

At Spelman College in Atlanta, a threat received on Tuesday was the second in two weeks, according to a letter from school president Mary Schmidt Campbell. She said that as a result of an appeal to officials, the city’s police department will increase patrols.

“These threats are despicable,” Dr. Campbell said in the letter, which was posted on Spelman’s website. “They are designed to make us feel fearful and vulnerable.”

In Jacksonville, Fla., Edward Waters University canceled in-person classes while police searched the campus for 10 hours, starting at 4 a.m. The university’s president, A. Zachary Faison, Jr., said on Twitter that anonymous threats of violence and a bomb were made at 3:55 a.m.

“The vicious and racially motivated targeting of Florida’s first HBCU is extremely unsettling for our community,” he said.

Local and campus police searched buildings. Students were asked to wear their IDs around campus even after the all clear was given.

HBCUs that didn’t receive threats were on high alert. Safety sweeps were conducted at Grambling State University out of an abundance of caution, the Grambling, La.-based school said in a tweet.

In Washington, D.C., the Metropolitan Police Department said no hazards had been found after early morning bomb threats were made at Howard University and the University of the District of Columbia. Both campuses were reopened around 7:30 a.m.
