I’ve seen all I need. Shoving a 75-year-old man to the ground is enough for me.

The only time it EVER would be justified to shove someone like that would be if they were coming at the cop with a gun. Cops are only permitted to use proportional force, that is, force that is reasonable under the circumstances. The force they used might’ve been reasonable if the victim were a 300 lb. NFL lineman. It is entirely unreasonable, and unlawful, to use that degree of force on someone like this guy who was peacefully protesting.

Falls often are deadly to the elderly. Anyone who has lived long enough knows that. I certainly hope this guy recovers, but I fear this event will end up being a bright line event in his physical and mental decline.
I quite agree that it was unjustified, part and parcel with the whole attitude, just would want to know more about whether they were repentant.
If the old geezer had not gotten into the cops grill it never would have happened. How did these cops know he was unarmed and posed no threat? The old geezer could have easily had a gun tucked in his belt behind his back. It would have been avoidable if the old geezer had not approached the cops. In the middle of a riot control clearing operation that is not the time to chit chat with officers. I don't feel bad for the old geezer. He picked a really, really, really bad time to try and make a political statement. I know my opinion is harsh and uncaring to most folks here. How many of you folks out there would ever get into a cops face for any reason. Getting into a cops face in that type of situation should be the last thing you ever do.
You seem to be using the term "old geezer" pejoratively...?

"riot control"...no, there wasn't actually a "riot" at that time.

There was a protest, yes, and there'd been a decision to move the crowd (forcefully), but protestors who themselves are not violent have every right to protest without being beaten with batons, knocked to the ground, gassed, etc.

Is a peaceful protestor risking bodily injury when they protest? Yes.
But should that risk come from the police? no

The command issue was the order to move the crowd forcefully. Of course, the "command" was likely to just move the line forward.
We've seen a whole bunch of video now of police going way, way beyond what is necessary to move protestors, really egregious actions taken with zero basis. This is an attitude problem, top to bottom, with some police being given license to act based on their emotions.

"riot control"...no, there wasn't actually a "riot" at that time.

At the time when this happened the officers had been ordered to clear the street. Riot or no riot that is when the operational order came into play. These officers were not privy to the why, they were ordered by higher ups to clear the street. I posted this yesterday MD, you may not have read it. I myself took a pretty good ass beating at the hands of the cops when I was a yute. I was just expressing my opinion of the situation I was in. I had done nothing criminal at all. The 2 cops took me in the back of the patrol car and tag teamed me for a few minutes. They then took me home, explained the situation to my dad and what I had said. After the cops left my dad gave me another ass beating for being disrespectful to the police. What I learned was like the cops or hate the cops, don't get into their grill. I have spent a lifetime since then being a bobblehead saying yes sir, no sir, yes sir. There is no way in hell given that same situation I go anywhere near the cops with the full riot gear and batons. I am the guy leading the charge in the other direction. I know every swinging Richard here is appalled at what the cops in Buffalo did. I am the lone wolf here, my personal experience from long ago has always instinctively told me to always stay as far away from the police as is possible. Given the situation at the time, I have watched the video of this old guy heading TOWARDS the cops and every time I see it i think to myself... WHAT THE EFF WERE YOU THINKING?

My wife often calls me her old geezer so I believe I have earned the right to use the phrase when I deem it appropriate. ;) With age comes wisdom, but for some of us it comes in smaller doses than others.

Gee, how did the cops know the "old geezer" wasn't wearing a suicide belt which could have detonated thereby croaking off all the cops?

Trump’s New Favorite Channel, OAN, Keeps Lying About Buffalo Protester Assaulted by Police

"Although OAN’s reporting on Gugino has been filled with glaring factual errors, misleading characterizations and innuendo scraped from the lower depths of the internet, its smears have been amplified on Twitter by President Donald Trump.

Echoing an OAN report that treated the musings of a conspiracy theorist in Florida as evidence, Trump told his millions of followers that the elderly protester who was shoved to the ground by the police on camera might have been a high-tech, “ANTIFA provocateur,” who had thrown himself to the pavement to make the officers look bad, after trying to jam their radios.

Although there is no evidence for any of that, the channel was so thrilled by the president’s attention that it rushed to produce three follow-up reports further smearing Gugino and boasted to viewers that “even President Trump is relying on our reports.”

While that might be true, it is also deeply troubling, given how little of OAN’s reporting on Gugino is accurate. In one follow-up report, OAN claimed to have uncovered “new details” about Gugino which supposedly prove that he is a “member of radical groups like Antifa,” but in fact show no such thing. Two days later, the channel tried to cast doubt on the severity of his injury, claiming unidentified medical experts who viewed video of the assault said the blood seen pouring from Gugino’s ear after the fall could only have been caused by a fractured skull, which they somehow concluded was unlikely, despite the very audible thud when his head hit the pavement. Gugino’s lawyer, Kelly Zarcone, told CNN on Monday that “his skull was fractured.” In its third report, OAN suggested, falsely, that it had evidence Gugino “was an active member on anarchist messaging boards.”

“Boogaloo Boys” kill officer using chaos of protests as cover.

Senseless cold-blooded murder. A tragedy for the officer’s family.

I’ll let Peter fill us in on Boogaloo Boys.

From The New York Times:

Air Force Sergeant With Ties to Extremist Group Charged in Federal Officer’s Death

The sergeant had expressed his allegiance to the so-called boogaloo movement, an extremist ideology that seeks to overthrow the U.S. government.

So what would you call this? Is this racism? According to some on this site, no. I am sure the kid sitting on the bench is at fault. I was there two weeks ago today. People were smiling and happy to be out and about. This has been building and I fear it will escalate. The constant put down of whites as racists by the dominant media and political culture has led to a sense that whites are fair game since they bear the sins of their forefathers. Hopefully cooler heads will prevail.

I love how the Left is stretching to create smokescreens around the violence of the Left, in plain sight all over the world, not just in the US. ' It's the fearsome boogaloo's, fellas, we swear!'

The mob is an invention of the left, and they will get more bold until they get smacked in the face. Smack them in the face like the Marxist Gugino in Buffalo, and they stop.

Pepsico/Quaker Oats announce that Aunt Jemima, the syrup and pancake mix brand (created in 1889) will get a completely new name and image - they will discontinue their "updated" image completely - have to wonder what took them so long.

Also note this historical tidbit - July 9, 1776: New Yorkers toppled a statue of King George III... and that’s why today nobody remembers who won the American Revolution.

"The mob of people pulled down the statue, and later the lead was melted down to make musket balls, or bullets for use in the war for independence... Careful records were kept, and it is known that 42,088 bullets were made.”

This brave white man standing alone was standing for Black Lives Matter in Bethel, Ohio this weekend when white supremacists, with badges, and without, surrounded him.⁣

Suddenly a bigot punches him right in the back of the head. Police are in front of him and behind him, see the whole thing, and DO NOTHING. ⁣

It was literal criminal assault. ⁣

Thank you tRUMP.

It was a slap. That load wouldn't be felled by a 10-ton nuclear bomb. He didn't even flinch.

Also, I wonder how obnoxious he was to everyone there before that edited piece of video...I am guessing by the look of him, quite a bit.

Also you linked from 'Talcum X', aka Shaun King, a person who previously claimed to be black even though he grew up middle class white.

You should never eat fake sugar syrup regardless of your wokiness. Syrups like Aunt Jemima are fake, and really bad for you.

The only syrup that you should ever eat is pure maple syrup.

I don't care where it comes from, but I will tell you some of the best pure maple syrup actually comes from Michigan and New York, not to mention Vermont of course.
