Trump feels very bad for Alex Acosta. Not a fan of Epstein.

“Noteworthy from the SDNY bail memo on Epstein: Florida prosecutors not only knew Epstein was a sexual predator but also that he harassed & intimidated the victims & their families to stop them from testifying. No federal prosecutor should let conduct like that go. Acosta did.” Mimi Rocah.

Reading Clinton was flight logged on JE's plane 26 times, not the 11 originally noted. This could get uglier.

Mimi Rocah also speculated (on MSNBC yesteday) that maybe Acosta gave Epstein a deal in hopes of a future cabinet post.
Apparently Acosta somehow knew in 2011 that Trump would become President in 2017.
...& she's a former SDNY prosecutor, connecting the dots ?
The contortions to implicate Trump in this are impressive.

Only The Jeffrey can implicate Trump. I thought the notion that Acosta was job hunting was about Kirkland Ellis, not some future ridiculous Trump Administration.

These calls for Acosta to resign miss the point.

WHO leveraged Acosta to give the sweetheart deal that provided immunity not only to Acosta but also to any co-conspirators?

Acosta's resignation can't wash away this gross stink. It's quite probable that he not only broke the law in not informing the victims of the plea deal, he may well have been part of a criminal conspiracy to obstruct justice. If so, those folks should actually do time.

There's been some speculation that the fallback cover story for the 'leverage' was that Epstein was an informant for the FBI and thus deserving of 'protection'. If that was even remotely true, that he indeed was an informant, then what on earth was that important that he got the sweetheart deal...and why did the co-conspirators get off the hook too? Were they too FBI informants?

The far more plausible explanation is that Epstein had dirt on all sorts of shady characters as well as all sorts of public figures, wealthy and politically connected men, etc, and one or more of the politically connected weighed in heavily on his behalf. Could Acosta be so slimy that he didn't stand up to that pressure, decided to go along to get along? Maybe so. "FBI informant" being a useful fallback cover story if ever pressed.

The Acosta off-site meetings with the Epstein lawyers is particularly telling of a knowing complicity in a cover-up.

My bad. My point is that there is a nexus between the DOL and child trafficking. Do you disagree? DOL is not a "law enforcement agency" unless I missed it......

That's my point. MSNBC mentioned only DOL, regarding enforcement.
No mention of FBI, DoJ or DHS, in their contortions to discredit Acosta's appointment.

MSNBC said "enforcing".
Researching and reporting information to inform U.S. foreign policy, trade policy, and cooperation initiatives;
-- Engaging with governments, civil society, and businesses to ensure that each does their part to make these unscrupulous practices a relic of the past; and
-- Piloting innovative technical cooperation strategies and building capacity in over 90 countries to eliminate the most hazardous and exploitative forms of child and forced labor.
-- ILAB engagement and technical cooperation initiatives to address the worst forms of child labor have made a critical difference in helping reduce the number of child laborers worldwide by 94 million over the past two decades. Collectively, ILAB projects have rescued and provided education to close to 2 million children and supported nearly 170,000 families to meet basic needs without relying on child labor.

More broadly, ILAB’s work to monitor and enforce the labor provisions of trade agreements and preference programs, which include prohibitions on child labor and forced labor, helps ensure fair competition and a level playing field for U.S. workers and businesses. ILAB’s efforts to eliminate hazardous and exploitative labor practices also respond to concerns of U.S. consumers that the imported products they buy should be made in a way that is consistent with their values.
DoJ is the enforcement agency for our child trafficking laws.

If Clinton was having sex with underage girls or women held against their will he should go to prison. Give him a cell next to Cosby!!
