No back room deals, no arm twisting, no payoffs.
Finally, Cornell has a fair shot at winning it all this year and losing
their spot as the program to go the longest between titles ('77 was
a long time ago...had a real good shot at it once but blew it). Even in

I could not care less about Syracuse's poor scheduling. Pretty stupid on their part to play 2 top teams in 3 days on the road. Chou chou was the one crying about all the past scheduling injustices against the evil orange empire.Chousnake wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 2:27 pmNot sure where this is coming from. keno in reno complained/whined about the schedule from an SU veiwpoint. Re: Cornell 2024
IL schedules from past years go back to 2014. In that time the longest period between the Syracuse opponent before Cornell and the Cornell game is 7 days. Years where it is a mid week game we have a mid week game the previous week. If you have an example of cuse resting 10 days before a Cornell game that example is at least 10 years old.laxfan1313 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 7:31 am+100 (Sometimes as long as 10 days with Syracuse having no game the previous weekend!)Chousnake wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 12:27 amOh please. This 2024 game would mark the first time in many many years (I'm too lazy to look up the actual number of years right now) that the teams will meet after an equal number of days of rest. For as long as I can remember, Syracuse had as much a week off before facing Cornell while Cornell played a game 3 days before (and two days before a few years ago) before facing SU.keno in reno wrote: ↑Sat Dec 16, 2023 11:16 pmNot equitable at all. And after a little more digging, in the 5 years before 2014 we played Princeton the weekend before a mid week Cornell game. No gap longer than 3-4 days. Starting to think we are dealing with a Cornell fan doing math/counting at a Hobart level.Antonio114 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 11:39 amIL schedules from past years go back to 2014. Re: Cornell 2024
I could not access Syracuse data from prior to 2002 and data from 2002 to date does not show Syracuse having 10 days to prepare for a Cornell game. I am confident that prior to that year there was at least one instance, perhaps more than one instance of a 10 day gap. From 2002 to 2013, it appears each team had equal preparation time. Subsequently, that changed. 2014: Syracuse 6 days, Cornell 3 days; 2015: This was Syracuse's 2nd game and Cornell's first game. The game was on February 15th. Syracuse had 8 days after its first game and had been practicing since January 1st. Cornell started practice on February 1st; 2016: Syracuse 6 days, Cornell 3 days; 2017: Syracuse 6 days, Cornell 3 days; 2018: Syracuse 7 days, Cornell 3 days; 2019: Syracuse 7 days, Cornell 3 days. 2020-2022: no games.Antonio114 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 12:12 pmAnd after a little more digging, in the 5 years before 2014 we played Princeton the weekend before a mid week Cornell game. B. Is a syracuse fan/rep really throwing an academic gauntlet down??? I guess we could do math on credit risk and lending and discuss the range of values to a third party personal guarantee on auto loans and see how that shakes out..in the late 80s/early 90s that guarantee on consumer secured is worth at least 500 basis points, or, checking Hobart math, $500/$10,000 per annum. (And given spreads are wider when nominal/index rates are higher reality is it could be worth 1,000bps back then, except subprime and thin file credit profiles literally didn’t have access to credit back then)

Re: Cornell 2024
Ok so the 10 day thing was either fiction or an ancient secret history swept away by the sands of time. Got it. But also, I just do not think this is a big deal at all. We have a midweek game scheduled the week before the cornell mid week game. Changed it up after we dropped the weekend Princeton game in 2013. Just seems like a totally normal April occurrence. Now we have a weekend game a few days before again and time marches on. Believe the record is 4-4 since 2014. Neither team did a whole lot in that time until your final four run 2 years ago. I am playing a violin, and the violin is not the worlds smallest, but it is noticeably smaller than average.laxfan1313 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 19, 2023 6:52 pmI could not access Syracuse data from prior to 2002 and data from 2002 to date does not show Syracuse having 10 days to prepare for a Cornell game. Re: Cornell 2024
Nope, not a big deal, never has been despite 1313's annual pizzin' and moanin' about it as if there's some sort of conspiracy and Cuse is afraid to play the Big Red unless they can get some sort of upper hand. Next comes red shirts.

Re: Cornell 2024
Minor correction: Cornell played Syracuse @ 'Cuse in 2022. Cornell had 2 days rest (they played Harvard 4/9, Syracuse 4/11), Syracuse had 4 days rest (Albany 4/7).
This was the game where Syracuse jumped out to the big lead (6-0, I think?) but Cornell came back to win it late.
