I want these refs to work every lacrosse game ever from now on. The players' parents & orthopedists however... :o

Hopefully Gunty is back for Princeton next weekend, Bears went 8/23 on FO today. I’m frankly surprised Brown kept it a game without him considering all the other absentees and injuries.

If Gunty and Kelly can get healthy + seniors come back strong, Brown might look pretty good. Definitely have some fight in them.

The 4 game shroud cast upon the 2023 squad by the hyper-noise sensitive Dean’s Office has been
lifted…..great effort by Brown goalie squandered today by all too many unforced turnovers from
underclassmen forced into roles by the missing seniors who return Monday at Villanova….target is now Princeton next Sat….adding the sr. McLane brother and Yeboah-Koady provides forces dearly missed over the past 4 games (3 losses)…they and the balance of the seniors are expected to take pressure off a struggling defense….spring training is over…

Bears need 10 & especially 48 as well to have any hope in the IL.

Agreed, Peeps' Goalie kept them in it. Lots of open field freelance opportunities for Bruno today. Unforced turnovers at times, gun shy at times. One leads to the other.
Signs of life from the from the attack, but pretty bad responses to UMass doubles overall between middies & attack.

Middle of the field was like a demolition derby. Fun to watch.

There were no time served penalties called against either Brown or UMass. I can’t recall ever seeing that before.

The only plausible explanation is that the refs asked players on both teams before the game if they'd prefer a historically accurate no holds barred donnybrook in the spirit of Garber Field's time honored traditions. The players must have said "Absolutely!", and medical staff on both teams were alerted to the likelihood of bruises, breaks and bloodshed.

Fans were also consulted, and encouraged to throw whatever bottles, cans and projectiles they arrived with.

And a good time was had by all! Lest old traditions fail.... ;)

Hope to see energy today despite just 1 day "off", and some coordination with the returnees, although I expect this game is a beta for the rest of the year, and today is to get the rust off. Flosports live $30/month 😂 when espn+ is, what, $8?
God bless Dave Gavitt & his creation. "Cancel anytime"- we'll see how many clicks it takes to find the 'cancel' button. Might keep it for the rest of the regular season.

And interested to see who's in sweats. Might be one of those years. Or is it already?🫣

I have absolutely no information on the severity of Kelly's injury, but I cannot fathom he will play today vs Villanova even if available. Brown will not be an at-large team, they should be focusing only on ILT. Get healthy for Ivy play starting Saturday.

With more midfield depth coming back and a desperate need for more scoring at attack, I wonder if A. Mclane might bump down. Don't really see any reason he should be off the field at this point. Over/under on Mclane bros shots today: 22?

Let's get a big Brown State rally today vs. Nova. This would be a huge out-of-conference win for the Bears. Let's Go!

If anyone is watching the game (I’m too cheap to pay $29.99 for only one game that I would want to see for the month) please provide updates. All I can get right now is the IL Live Scoreboard which sows the game being tied 1-1.

Extraordinarily sloppy play from Brown, they better clean it up: 15 first have turnovers! Lucky to be in it.

15 turnovers in first half for Brown, many unforced, not helping things. Basic fundamental problems like dropping the ball for no reason. 12 saves for Theriault, he can only do so much.

As Villanova turned up the defensive pressure, Bears turned the ball over. On faceoffs, Sachs winning enough clamps but not getting the ball out clean. Lots of contact, 'Nova winning the scrums.

Faceoffs! Good quarter, although toward the end Bears treated a few possessions as if there is a 20 second clock, and on a few others Vuitton made some really good saves. Hate to see the other goalie get hot.
