Where’s the best place to see where girls have committed?
https://www.laxnumbers.com/recruits.php ... 5&gender=W
All of the above is good. Last year the dude on Facebook wlax recruiting numbers was the best at keeping it up to date. Some of the others were a day or two behind. Good luck to your daughter tonight. Very exciting time.
Some details here. Both my 22 and 25's coaches had team meetings about this and the info was the same, though coaches interpretations of it was VERY different.cdb wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2024 11:29 am Thanks for the URL citation. I read it, but still have some questions. First, it doesn't seem to indicate schools have to increase their scholarships, but can raise them up to 48 if they choose to. 2. Lacrosse and others are non-revenue sports (typically), so it does not appear that athletes in those sports would be suing for a part of the revenue the school receives in revenue sports -- 3. Why not just leave it the way it is now?
I can see a football school deciding to share revenue with WLAX in the forms of increased scholarship money in order to increase recruiting. Yes, the top athletes will be prizes all the top schools will fight for -- but what wins championships is having a strong team with very good players -- those who typically would be getting partial scholarships -- I can see where a school that is trying to raise its footprint and power rating, could offer more money to those players -- and, if it did do, and the student liked that school, they could decide to go there instead of one of the higher rated schools.
Is my thinking flawed or could you elaborate on it -- I admit ahead of time, my knowledge is limited, so I am open to learning more about this subject. As I have said before, I believe WLAX can become a revenue sport -- when the Women's Pro game establishes and athletes can make sufficient money to start their post-college careers as athletes.
Wow. I would be pissed as hell if that happened. Any idea who leaked it?
Wlaxnumbers or laxnumbers.com? 2 different things.
No clue. I congratulated another dad on his daughter’s commitment and he was like “how the hell did you know??” Maybe the coaches themselves report it?LaxDadMax wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2024 9:22 pmWow. I would be pissed as hell if that happened. Any idea who leaked it?
My 25's timing was strange. She committed 4th week of Sept to the coach. But didnt do a public post until a week later when she got her pic taken on campus. Lax numbers posted it on Devil's Eve.
2) 25 p4 schools (may be missing a couple?) and 7 are over 38 for their most recent listed roster, either '25 or '24. 39, 40(2), 41(3) and 42. 18 total spots. without knowing or looking at if any adjustments are already in effect for '26 year in anticipation. guess people can make their assessment whether that's a lot. average roster size is just over 36. the proposed roster limits were an average of all schools (don't know for what years, but certainly may have included covid years). so non p4 average probably slightly over 38.LaxDadMax wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2024 8:45 pmSome details here. Most Important -- This all assumes the proposed settlement is approved, which is far from a done deal. The NCAA players association recently wrote a letter opposing it.
1) The 38 roster limit only applies to schools in Power 5 conferences or schools who opt-in to revenue sharing. At this point, no D1 women's lax programs have opted in.
2) It is expected that the 38 limit won't start until January of the season. This means many programs will be over the limit and have cuts. It is unclear if medical redshirts will count against it.
3) Any school can go over current scholarship limits, even if they don't revenue share.
4) Conference will have the option to set limits on scholarships, though none have done it to this point. Patriot League and AAC have gone on record saying they won't cap scholarships.
5) Schools now have the right to limit certain types of NIL deals. This is currently a grey area. For instance, if a team has a Gait deal, a coach can tell the player that they can't do a deal with STX.
6) Any type of revenue sharing will NOT be written into letters of intent. They will be a separate document with different terms and guarantees. Now in practice, girls can sign it 10 seconds after they sign their NIL.
Who would that be?USF gets the first commit. (Obviously not Army and Navy)

Ridiculous stress over last 2 weeks of August at last chance camps and early September.Wamp1 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 9:15 amCoach putting the uniform on the table and making the offer was such a great experience! Taking the pic and seeing the smile on her face was priceless!LaxDadMax wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 7:27 pmMy 25 had 8 schools with serious interest on 9/1. Of those 5 of them had indicated to our club coach that they would reach out. 2 who indicated they would reach out never did. 3 reached as surprises (2 top 25).Wamp1 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 4:07 pm5 of the 7 she had actively reached out to. The other 2 were surprises. Of the 7, she only went to one of their prospect days prior to 9.1, but played in front of a few of the others at APEX60/XPO camps. She went to prospect days for 3 other schools that did not reach out. Those schools gave her multiple profile views/video watches and showed up at tournaments. Rejection is part of the process for most!LaxDadMax wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 3:04 pmOut of curiosity, how many of those 7 did your daughter actively reach out to?Wamp1 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 1:43 pm Agreed. This was our experience last year. The 7 schools that reached out to us on 9/1 were ranked between 30-80. Just be aware that most of these schools are casting a wide net on prospects just like most of our girls did in sending emails all Spring / Summer. Don't fall in love with the BEST school that reaches out right away. Rejection is part of the process. Lucky to have gotten multiple offers. Although there are 127 D1 schools, spots are not unlimited. Ask how many they are recruiting at your position. Most schools take 8-10 players total per class. Thrilled for where my daughter ended up! Best of luck!
Then in late September, a top 5 school reached out out of nowhere and were willing to fly us out for a visit in 2 days.
That must have been a fun experience!! Congrats!
Best part for my daughter was her visit to the school she committed to. She had verbally committed a few days prior, but didn't post to social until promo uniform pictures were taken. So she went on a college trip with virtually no stress and could actually enjoy the experience.
And if you were asking, we didn't take that top 5 visit. Many on this board know there is one top 5 program I really don't like and that entire experience reinforced it all.
