Labs are highly valued where I live.

They shed too much for most people. They aren’t into chasing balls or anything else. They need an owner who will properly socialize them. They are big. My females were all 120-130 lbs. Not massive but still...

On the other side of the equation they are very strong and have stamina. Kuvasz are Hungarian sheep guarding dogs. They don’t herd. They are put out with a flock when they are very young and left there to protect them from wolves and other predators. During WW ll the Germans tried to eradicate them. They are very instinctive and very good at doing the right thing at the right time. Not over bred. I would post a photo but don’t know how to do it here

I had a sibling that had a female Kuvasz. Great dog - we were the best of pals but I would never have wanted to be on that dog's bad side. Anyway - the female Kuvasz I knew was about 75-85 lbs. Breed standard for a female is about 80-90 so where in the world did you find 130 lb females? and just in case you were wondering - a 130 lb dog is huge - There is a female Newfie and a male Anatolian in my complex and they are both about 140 lbs - sheer definition of massive. Yes I have seen some male Newfs and English mastiffs probably tipping the scales at 175+ but 130 is all the dog you need.

I got my first kuvasz from the flight surgeon on Air Force 1 who was given a matched pair by the Hungarian government. They were larger than standard. In my limited exp breed standard is now small relatively speaking but I don’t show etc. I had two breeders I used.

Hungarian Bred dogs are sharper than American.

I probably shouldn’t mention I have a 100 lb standard poodle too. Dad was 64. Mom was 46. No idea where it came from. They were bred to be water retrievers.

I would love to post a Kuvasz photo in my files but can’t figure it out. Got my first from word of mouth. You really don’t want to be on the bad side of one. The Germans killed them on sight. Stopping dog talk.

Aren’t labs in the top five in popularity pretty much every year? With breeders in the family, we’ve had quite a few Chesapeake’s for big dogs and a few fox Terriers as minis, but we really hit the jackpot with a rescue half treeing Walker coon hound, quarter German short haired pointer, quarter boxer mix. He runs so fast and so long that he could play middie at UVA.

For the record, I’d like to state that I did not start the current animal discussion. I usually stick to cats.

Or, maybe I did by sharing Larry Quinn’s German Shepard quote, which eventually led to the labs discussion.

Anyway, if so, this has all been an accidental protuberance, like that little red thing.

He's not going to publicly call out his friend and teammate in a preseason interview. I suspect his mentioning of Connor is designed as a challenge to boost the kid's confidence headed into the season. You know, something a good leader might do.

Weather in the Philly area now looks okay for Saturday—hopefully it stays that way.

This was the most open I've heard petro in the offseason. He throws the upperclassmen and defense from the last few years under the bus and runs over them a few times, good. In the navy discussion he basically admits we're playing them because UVA is a tougher opponent. Interestingly he mentions connor in the same breath as epstein so it doesn't sound like the midfield is as much a concern for him as it is for others.

Petro pretty much exposes his shortcomings with his approach to playing time the last few years in that radio interview. To suggest that open competition is a new concept for this program explains why DeSimone saw zero drop off in playing time when he was playing like trash while a kid like Zinn got cold on the bench. That suggests he wasn’t putting the best players on the field but he’s open to doing that now. That’s unacceptable.
