Heard from my daughter who is a freshman at another school (but had a club teammate at Xavier) that more than half the Xavier team entered the portal last week. Assume its a coaching issue..
Xavier coach brought her husband on as an assistant with no lacrosse experience. Terrible coach, no people skills and little support from school doesn’t make for a good program.

Are you sure this is how you want to describe Matt Zink and Meg Decker? Maybe the guy is doing the best he can while dealing with the side effects of trial treatments for his cancer? Find someone else to pick on.

https://www.usalacrosse.com/magazine/co ... meg-decker

I wish no harm upon either of these coaches and hope for health and healing. But when it comes to her coaching, many have described her style as abusive. Of course you have to take it with a grain of salt but I’ve heard the reviews on this page are pretty spot-on. https://www.2adays.com/coaches/meg-decker-46914
Was just looking at the 2adays website and was surprised to not see Meg Decker(Xavier) listed under a search for D1 Women's Lacrosse coaches as she had been near the top of the reviews based off overall number of reviews with a very low score. When I searched her on the site, I was brought to the profile that the link in the above post takes you to, and found it very interesting to see how her profile has been edited so it doesn't appear in searches for D1 coaches.

Her profile actually shows her current position as Head Women's Lacrosse coach at St. Xavier University in Chicago, IL and the Division is listed as NAIA. St. Xavier doesn't have a women's lacrosse program, only a men's club team, and she's never coached or attended the school as she's still at Xavier University in Cincinnati. By her being listed as an NAIA coach at a different school(St. X is an NAIA school in other sports), she does not show up in a search for D1 coaches and only shows up if you search her directly. Her reviews are pretty harsh so I wouldn't blame her or someone affiliated with her or Xavier with wanting to hide them but its not a good look to try to hide your profile on the site to avoid recruits from accessing the comments, whether she did it or someone affiliated with her or the program did.

11 players in the portal is a bad enough look, this doesn't help in building the program, which is a shame.

I really thought Carter would leave Clemson to go back to Penn State. Nope. Went to UConn and PSU hired Sara Willard. Willard will quit in a year or two.

Interesting hire. An experienced coach who has done alot. But when she was DC at Georgetown, the defense got worse every year.

Can't read much into her year at Towson since it was Carr's first year as well.

She recruited my eldest daughter when she was at Georgetown. Super nice and caring woman, but not at all dynamic. Not sure she will be able get top talent to go to central Virginia.

I wish her the best, but its a tough spot all around. Hopefully she is given a long leash.

Any word on Florida State? Certainly the identity of “the super secret current head coach elsewhere” has been revealed by now.

When is Taylor Cummings going to get a college coaching job? Does anyone know her situation, maybe she's not interested?

She had a baby earlier this year, and is the director of a newly launched club team (Mariners - looks like a girls' division of Clippers LC in the Annapolis area). Pretty sure she isn't interested in a college coaching job at this time, because if she was, she'd have numerous offers.

Not impressed. Her career at Furman doesn’t make me think she will help the culture at Xavier.

Especially when I first time coach got dramatically better results with the same roster and no fall ball. I actually hope lauren farber catches on somewhere. I'd argue she had one op the top 5 coaching performance last year.

It’s as if Xavier is trying to tank their program. Pretty sure Lewis was let go for NCAA violations - allegations of abusive conduct similar to what 2adays says about Decker.

I have no reason to believe the addition of WLAX at FSU is in jeopardy. I think they are doing their due diligence on a hire.
While I don't think the addition is in jeopardy, I also don't believe the administration is working very hard on moving forward...
Slow rolling just in case. It's a smart move, financially.
@Spidey44 and @LaxPundit07 - would love to get your updated thoughts. 🤣

At this point, I don’t know what to think. Maybe they are waiting to add men’s, then bringing Joe, Joey, and Alexa Spallina to Tallahassee? Or maybe Kayla and her assistant are in the mix for the job now and considering a fresh start? Or maybe John Sung is coming back from Northwestern Missouri State College (or wherever he was last exiled to) and convincing the admins there he can build the program without applying for 194883737 other jobs while there? My best guess is they haven’t been able to land someone yet because everyone who walks through the door quickly realizes they aren’t going to properly support it. They are just going to do the bare minimum thanks to the genesis of the program in the first place.
