Phi Psi 500 dates back to the 70's I believe. It started as a bike race at Indiana [movie "Breaking Away"] and the "race" from bar to bar in Collegetown died out after the drinking age went to 21 in the 80's. I would be surprised if there was any connection, especially because the Phi Psi 500 was not something a lax coach would embrace.

Unless you are being sarcastic and I am being dense.

The Phi Psi 500 was run during lacrosse season. The biggest tie to Cornell Athletics that I saw was when Dean of Admissions and Cornell HOF wrestler, Don Dickason, ran the race.

Does anyone have any "inside" information as to where the Cornell - Notre Dame game will be played?
It's listed as a neutral site location on the schedule.

I heard LIU on Long Island.

Also, Blake Cascadden decommits from Dartmouth and commits to Cornell. The Cascaddens will be in Ithaca for awhile… Go Big Red!

Good news-- Blake looks like an excellent ssdm/ 2way middie prospect. There is another d mid in his recruiting class. With the increasing importance of the position, it's nice to see kids who played the position in HS, and not just converted O mids.

I need Intel on Luke Gilmartin fast. Any good word for 24 and beyond?

You’d be helping a 9yr old girl here, not this guy who is merely an information conduit, with any intel foe what it’s worth. And she has a opportunity to directly compete with her big brother this spring in a forum where this information would be applied. And who doesn’t want to see that!

Guilt trip over now and thanks in advance!

On Saturday March 30th, Cornell plays at Penn while Syracuse visits Notre Dame. Cornell hosts Syracuse on Tuesday April 2nd at 7pm. Unusually equitable.

Not equitable at all. Penn<<<Notre Dame, then 3 days later at Cornell. Big Advantage Big Red.

Oh please. Cry me a river. Do you know the recent history of the Syracuse-Cornell rivalry? This 2024 game would mark the first time in many many years (I'm too lazy to look up the actual number of years right now) that the teams will meet after an equal number of days of rest. For as long as I can remember, Syracuse had as much a week off before facing Cornell while Cornell played a game 3 days before (and two days before a few years ago) facing SU.

I like how Cornell’s schedule sets up for Hobart to show them some flying trout this year.

+100 (Sometimes as long as 10 days with Syracuse having no game the previous weekend!)

When Cornell and Syracuse face off, it's a great day for college lacrosse. Yes, Notre Dame just won the natty, but Penn is not quite like UMass Lowell or Cleveland State. Go Big Red!

The Office Of Scheduling on the grassy knoll was closed this year.
No back room deals, no arm twisting, no payoffs.
Finally, Cornell has a fair shot at winning it all this year and losing
their spot as the program to go the longest between titles ('77 was
a long time ago...had a real good shot at it once but blew it). Even in
a year when everything is just the way you want it you can't help
yourselves from whining. How unbecoming.
