Lot of short termism flying around here. Like Spallina was 1/15 and sucks. Guess since Loyola beat MD they’ll be champ too.

That is true. Yes, it is a loss. And maybe if the played UVA later, the Wahoos would win by several more. Still, this was the best Michigan has played in ages, if not ever.
Michigan has wins over top ten-ranked ND and OSU in the last 5 years. They've also beat Penn, Rutgers, PSU, JHU.

I was impressed by Michigan. They held up athletically which bodes well for the rest of their season. I expect them to challenge Hop and OSU to take Maryland’s crown in the Big 10. The latter had a bad day but they will be there at the end.

The thing is, though, of those last four you mentioned, multiple ones weren't any more than mediocre at the time. Also, that Notre Dame team didn't end up having one of their best seasons. And I believe Ohio State was missing their superstar attackman.
Yes, wins are better than losses. But still, I think Michigan played better today than they did in any of those games. UVA is better than any of those past opponents, too.

If it didn’t happen in the last three weeks it didn’t happen or will be tossed aside for some reason or another.

Justin Brown not play?

Michigan looked good versus UVA, hanging close for most of the game. Big 10 will be tough this year with an improved Hopkins and strong OSU. Rutgers should be good again this year, and while Maryland may have come back to the pack, the Wolverines could improve significantly and still lose most conference games.

This is another things that fans forget----plenty of good, and sometimes really good teams go O-fer against the BigTen.

This is a VERY hard conference for a new program to be in....

Brown definitely has the first step and jump but just needs that internal clock to go off a little faster. Decision making is just a tick slow. You hope by like by Big Ten play he'll be a lot to handle.

Yes, Michigan is very new when it comes to the other programs in the conference and to many programs in other conferences. But, the truth is, I don’t really think Michigan Lacrosse and “new” have a rock-solid association anymore. This is their twelfth season as a DI program.

PS-As I said, I have more faith in Conry after the UVA game. In most to all of the previous years, UVA would probably have pounded them.

He has recruited well, and he has much more experienced talent this year.

Hofstra time. I will say that Michigan could have their hands full if Hofstra plays like they did against Navy last weekend.

They’re not.

They took the Mids to the last minute of that game.

It’s early we will see. I still think Tierney is past his prime and Hofstra is in a down swing for a few years. From the Bart - Mich scrimmages I know Mich is far better this year and last years Mich slaughtered UDel where I view lay years UDel > this years Hofstra by a wide margin.
