Certainly neither seem likely to make an immediate impact, but some rosters are built well enough to allow that. Of course, missing on 1st and 2nd round choices can come back to bite you in a couple seasons.

Agreed. This and numerous future seasons will be negatively impacted to an extreme. The only real question is how much damage will be incurred. Either way, the PA Talk franchise is reeling.

Maybe we'll finally get to pick at the top of the draft versus the end, per usual ;)

What concerned me was the FB coach being upset he was going to play in a lax all star game bcs of the chance of injury and the spring FB practice and the lax regular season. Even so there is a very big upside with as Matt said risk

Since we weren't required to drop all our drops at the outset, and drops are ongoing, can we agree that a coach must say in their final-draft-choice post that they're finished? That will make it easier to track how the draft order goes once teams start filling (mostly for those of us who will require more draft picks).

What if we are only finished "if" a certain player does not fall to us with a next pick?

Then you close out your draft when that certain player is no longer available.

I’d love to be able to pick a top 5 freshman without having to research by picking early for once

We all have an "off" year once in a while...a while...

I think Eric Spanos in the 2nd round is a steal. He's a violent scorer. I seriously considered him at #12.
RE Spanos… I think it helped he wasn’t ranked due to injuries in high school sophomore year and the rest of his high school attack seem to make the top 100… also probably for the reason I nearly didn’t pick him.. he almost definitely won’t play freshman year (unless he runs mid) and might not even see the field sophomore year but I’m willing to wait!

Elsewhere it’s a shame we don’t have all the D1 teams sometimes, McGill going to Dartmouth from the same high school looks a lefty beast in waiting

It's not as easy as it looks. Look at last year. O'Neill was an obvious pick. I picked Hiltz at #2, but was considering Brendan Grimes. I'm glad I didn't pick Grimes. He may become a good scorer, but at #2 you want more. #6 and #7 were Cole Herbert and Mac Costin. Nick DeMaio and T.J. Malone were top 5 picks in 2020. Now, you may be saying to yourself, "well I'm not stupid enough to pick one of those guys", but sometimes it's hard to make the right choice. Btw, I got Pat Kavanagh at #10 that year.

For sure true. One season, (3 years ago? Maybe four?) I posted the highest point-getting players along with when they were drafted. There was some correlation between being a top point-getter and being drafted early but not a strong one. "Lots* of top Point-getters are taken in 2nd, 3rd, and later rounds. Let alone during the last picks of the first round.

It’s defo never easy.. I got Mullins 3rd round and carraway maybe 5th Round (might be the other way around) and points wise they will be bigger points scorers than most players in the game over 4 years as they both played from freshman… I still don’t think im over them graduating yet haha.

I was gutted when you took Kavanagh as I had begun to dream he was somehow missed

I think a big part of it that’s ignored is half the top players all go to the same teams and therefore they can’t all see the Field and ball as much as say Sowers at Princeton…. He was the perfect combo of amazing player at a weaker team.. at Duke he didn’t quite hit the same monster numbers for that reason.
