I think the bigger head-scratcher for me is how many players are AAs who are just completely missed. And, for many, it's not like they're hidden. Just not on the Top 100 List.

On an individual level I think the most interesting is Spencer Parks. Neither would seem to have performed to their ranking or a super high level, but not sure either could be called busts either.

Parks had 79pts in two seasons (36 games) and was over 30% career, well over in 2016 when he had 48pts. But at #7 you'd expect AA even from a non "glory" program given Towson had a very fine season and made the quarters that year (blasted the 'ish out of Hobart in our play in game then beat Denver, lost by 1 to Loyola in QF game).

He had more pts than James Pannell, who was classified as a hit or boom I believe as a Sr.
I like to look at 1st, 2nd or 3rd team AA as a senior. Also, I like to look at players that played above their ranking. I looked at this years ago. You often see the NBA list a theoretical re-draft. I think of these lists in that context.

High School, Club and UA Underclass as a rising senior used to makes a difference.

3-UVA's McNamara - D-Mid, Team Captain.
5-UVA's Pannell - Got AA mentions as a younger player and injuries didn't help him.
8-UVA's Dan Marino - GOT PT and... Goalie's a tough position. Only 1 gets to play.
14-UVA's Tanner Scales. Similar to Pannell. Got AA mentions as a younger player, as a freshman was the ACC Freshman of the Year, and then got injured and... Was the captain as a senior.

Not simple. bottom-line, this is highly competitive stuff.

Those refracts that Bill Simmons does are interesting especially after like 5-7.

Something like this:

Even the NBA gets it wrong with far more information.

This is how I look at the top 100. Case Matheis would still be in the top 15, if not 10.

Right now Simmons should be like 9 - 11.

Ben Simmons is a top talent. I have him at maybe 4…5 at worse. He needs to be paired with another ball handler late game and work on his FT shooting which is confidence. That’s all he needs.

At some point the talent dissipates and a kid just becomes a headcase. I think we are thee with a kid coddle since HS who jerked around at LSU for a year and may hve peaked as a pro two years ago.

A longer, “rangier” Tony Allen is his upside now it seems.

He’s a top talent and can effect the game without scoring. He’s a better version of Paul Pressey. He can score in the paint. I would use him in pick and roll. He would be the picker.

I see the value but the guy kicked out the ball from under the rim late in a playoff game. Rich Paul has him heading towards a Youtube video of him singing a R Kelly song while covered in Vaseline...

I haven't heard anything but have been more impressed with the new talent coming in, so I was looking for a reload more than a return.

Lars stated that some of his short sticks were planning to return but weren’t on the roster in the Fall. Virginia could use an alpha at midfield(possibly gonna be Schutz) and a couple more short stick defenders….. Virginia looks loaded elsewhere……
