I had heard some other's report that Wood was one of a few players that apparently left the program after the fall. Sorry can't confirm about Swenson as he was not one of the names mentioned but perhaps he did as well?

Perhaps the loss to Colgate in first game was due to team confidence being down, post Yale scrimmage? Of course not to take anything away from Gate's fine win...
The shock-and-awe TD Ierlan effect should be less of a factor this year. And with the graduation of the entire first midfield line and two new assistants for Yale, Yale should have more "figuring it out" to do than was the case last year. Here's hoping for some good in-depth reporting on the scrimmage from some of the Orange faithful.

Would be happy to oblige Orfling, 'cept these scrimmages aren't open to the public in the "new indoor facility"*. Used to be able to go when they were in the Dome, but no more. Sometimes some media folks can get it, sometimes not. Hope we get a little something about how the teams played/looked.

*I don't much like the new indoor facility.

Here's hoping for no injuries for either team.

Any reactions to Q’s comments on his podcast about the reason for the departure of a long time assistant?

Syracuse made a couple of changes. There is a big push to get back to the FF this year so changes...

A change occurred because of the mounting disenchantment of a spoiled fanbase who felt it was their inalienable right to be in FF every year given past history. Changed landscape doesnt matter to them . Every Cuse season ending loss reignites some calling for Desko's head similar to that fraction of JHU fanbase calling for Petro's canning most every year. Donahue was integral part of past successes, he forgot more than younger coaches know. His offensive system was still productive despite not always having top talent yet some criticsm of it being stale despite his adaptations to suit personnel.Newer Cuse AD pressuring staff to appease likely strained relationships some . Donahue volunteered to step down as he had been already considering retirement to pursue other local interests with family , he was the loyal who fell on the proverbial sword and it likely incurred some bruising in doing so. March is brash and innovative and will do a fine job , he inherits some nice pieces but everyone at Cuse was still hoping that Donahue would stay as volunteer because he was invaluable resource and well liked by all. Constanza appears to be a solid hire

Donahue had a chance to become a head coach and turned the offer down awhile ago.

For many reasons Cuse and Hopkins have some similarities these days and you mentioned one of them.

Thnx, tech. How 'bout that Buttermore boy, eh? ;) That boy knows how to get it in the net...nice looking numbers from plenty of others too....including FOGOs considering the competition.

Anyone see what the Syracuse offense looked like. The new OC was a great pickup. That team is going to score a lot of goals.

Don't get to see anything, TLD, scrimmages are closed, no room for fans in the facility (sucks).
Players are liking the new OC though....attitude on the team is good, pretty high spirits and ready for the season.

Sounds like it was a good scrimmage for both teams.
Two good teams getting a little taste of stiff competition.
Good stuff.
