Do not confuse me with my wife :D

For 4 weeks now I have been ankle bit daily about my VA form to receive 70% medical disability. Had I stayed for the PTSD portion it would be 100. I refuse to sign the paperwork as I signed up to do A and I received from the taxpayer B. Now 30 some years later I get to get free stuff nope we had a contract and both parties got what they wanted so the paper my go flying in Washington.

No one is gonna b$tch about paying for college or Trade school as long as you pay it back and it does not have to be through student loans. Go teach and mentor inter-city kids or go join the peace corps and bring good will to this country. There is IMHO a way to cost benefit that trade.

Volunteer at your local VA or inter-city homeless shelter if you have the time or maybe you do. In my experience the issues are mental and we need to do a better job addressing them.
I volunteer for a local for homeless shelter ex military personnel. My wife and I have both donated our time and routinely done personal hygiene items every few months. I was recently on a board for a public education fund for a depressed school district also. I have also worked with basically a sports academy for economically disadvantaged kids. I agree with you.
My hat is of to you TLD. I know there are many things we disagree about but I am proud of your service to our veterans in need. It has been awhile but my sister has always nominated me to help her at the homeless shelter. The first time I helped wash dishes after the thanksgiving meal was the best case of dishpan hands I ever had.
I use to be a people person until people ruined that for me.

I can take you to any neighborhood at all points of the compass around this city and show them to you.

Currently there's 50,000 in LA living on the street spreading disease and filth. That number keeps growing. Odd.

Thousands more in San Fran Cisco.

The school district here is serving 3 meals a day—to kids who are on vacation for the summer—Because we're afraid their parents ON FOOD STAMPS won't feed thank at all.
1) That's the "vast majority"?

2) growing up that's what "they aspired to"?
NEAR 50% DROP OUT RATE. ONLY 24% of 8th graders in the district can read at grade level.

So yeh that's what they aspire to.

And the statistics are comparable in many americas cities

If you have a link that defines the drop out rate and quantifies it some other way, I will be happy to read it..., kids that don’t graduate from Syracuse U in four years are included in the drop out rate?

Three bills, filled with socialist handouts, totaling $2.7 Trillion dollars, all signed by both your party and Trump..and also Nancy Freaking Pelosi. You think that Pelosi signing the bills with glee would tell you all you need to know about the three bills. Nope. Instead? You're THRILLED with the spending because Trump has a little R by his name.

And that doesn't include the $17 Billion in cash handed out to Corporate Farmers to literally do nothing. Do you care? Hell no.

I'm MILES to the right of you. Trump's spending and tax policy is as lefty as you get: Borrow Trillions of dollars for crap we don't need, and hand the bill to our grandkids. And the reason he did it is that he knows full well that guys like you don't care about financial responsibility....all you care about is yourself and your own bottom line. If it makes the economy roll, you don't care how he did it.

And if that means Billions more in socialism? You're overjoyed to sign on.

How about all those billions spent on Trump's Opioid Bill? Talk about a liberal stance! So these people CHOOSE to take these drugs, and Trump decides to enable their choices with Billions in handouts? What would Reagan say about that? Reagan would say: more jails, tougher sentences for those caught with the drugs.

Trump is a freaking liberal...you're just too far up his you know what to realize it. Tariffs? Helping Steel Unions at the expense of their American customers? Handouts to citizens for doing nothing? Trillions more in spending....every cent of it borrowed?

You put the Republican Party in front of your own values, and can't even see that what you've done.

I understand what you're pointing out, that the Trumpists have abandoned all notions of fiscal restraint and individual capitalism to the temptations of state-directed cronyism.

I think it's fair to call the Trumpists socialists, though I think it's more akin to national socialism, i.e. fascism.
Democratic socialism, not so much.

Not so sure I'd call them 'liberal' either in the classic sense or in modern parlance. No concern for individual or minority rights, that is, unless they or those who look like them are the 'individual' or 'minority'.

It is much like the '30's and '40's, when corporate "capitalists" made common cause with the populist, resulting in crony capitalism and demonization of the 'Other' (with the imperative to eliminate "the Other") and suppression of free speech and the press, "Enemies of the State".

No concern for the rule of law, power vests in the strong man and his minions, benefiting only those who pledge allegiance to the Party Leader with cult-like zeal.

Religion, too, was complicit, compromising essential values to the passions of supercessionist thinking: "God is with us, not you". Lutheran and Catholic complicity then, evangelical and 'conservative' Catholics and Presbyterians today.

Hopefully our system is sufficiently resilient to overcome this challenge, but the notion that somehow Americans are inherently 'better people' than those who succumbed to the temptations of fascism, seems to me to be exceptionally naive.

Amen, Md.

Today our Leader issued a vicious racist screed against AOC and several other non-white, female, elected Members of Congress.

Not a word of condemnation from any elected Republican (that is, Trumpist) Party member that I have been able to find.

Hail Victory!

NOT A TYPO’: Democrat Poll Shows What Voters Think Of Omar, Ocasio-Cortez
by Ryan Saavedra
July 14, 2019
A new internal Democrat poll in swing districts released on Sunday showed that socialist Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Ilhan Omar (D-MN) are extremely unpopular and that they may cost the Democratic Party the presidency and the House in 2020.

"Ocasio-Cortez was recognized by 74% of voters in the poll; 22% had a favorable view," Axios reported. "Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota — another member of The Squad — was recognized by 53% of the voters; 9% (not a typo) had a favorable view."

"Socialism was viewed favorably by 18% of the voters and unfavorably by 69%," Axios added, whereas "capitalism was 56% favorable; 32% unfavorable."

The firm that conducted the poll gave the results to Axios on the condition that it not be named because it works "with all parts of the party."

A top Democrat involved in the 2020 congressional races told Axios: "If all voters hear about is AOC, it could put the [House] majority at risk. [S]he's getting all the news and defining everyone else’s races. Socialism is toxic to these voters."

The poll's results match numerous other polls that have been taken on Ocasio-Cortez and socialism.

A June poll from inside Ocasio-Cortez's district found:

They don’t like her. She has a more than 2:1 ratio of unfavorable (50.88%) to favorable (21.37%) in public opinion.
They don’t trust her. Only 10.75% thought she had their best interests in mind in quashing the Amazon deal – 32.60% said she didn’t.
They don’t want her. 33.44% are ready to vote against her, and only 13.30% would vote for her.
"A Quinnipiac poll released on Thursday morning found that 23 percent of Americans had a favorable view of the member of Congress, while 36 percent had an unfavorable view — a -13 overall approval rating," Vox reported in March. "This new poll isn’t a one-off finding. Three prior surveys — one in January from Morning Consult, one in February from Fox, and a third in mid-March from Gallup — all found that more Americans had negative views of AOC than had positive ones."

Oh, this should be great.

Hey Bandito: give me two examples of capitalism in America, and two examples of socialism in America.

Not things that are proposed---examples that are in place and operational.

Should be entertaining to see what you think the words socialism and capitalism means.
