no signings, a verbal. you'd think it might make a modicum of sense to have a 2nd date where offers couldn't be made before. and thus no verbals. if there really can't be any recruiting contact, or at least no relationships built, the allowance of some time and not making it a speed-dating ritual may produce best matches.

I can guarantee that by the time this class hits the field in college there will be plenty of kids from Georgia, Florida, Texas, Colorado, Utah, California, Oregon, Washington or other areas who are better than those on this list.

Point well taken but also a bit of overreaction.

Not sure how that is an overreaction, it's sort of statistical reality these days. Do you think there were really 100 kids better than Erksa and Plunkett when they were juniors, and 50 better than Zappitello as a junior?

My thinking on California kids,
they are catching up, but they were really locked down, more than just about anyone else in 2020-2021.
This year you’ve got Cole Kastner and Ben Ramsey, all americans who were on the higher end of rater’s lists - have outperformed especially Kastner.
For 2025, who knows, I look more at Florida particularly with IMG situated there.
Dewey Egan is a California kid who could make a mark.
But you’ve gotten among the best you’re going to get out of California in Kastner, Will Mark and recently Anthony DeMaio.
I think its simply a case of these publications having limited budgets and writers based exclusively on the East Coast. Same reason the HS top 25 is populated by the same preps/ MIAA/ LI/ Philly teams year after year. Sure, you get to see the West Coast teams at club tournaments, but good luck really getting a sense of the guys who will be impactful D1 players (aside from the five-or-so obvious players) in that context.

With respect to California, not sure lockdown was a bigger issue there vs other places. The 2020 HS season was cut short, like everywhere else, but things resumed as usual in 2021 and the top clubs (WCS, ADVNC, etc) never really paused. I will say that successive classes are getting rapidly better with respect to D1 level talent. 2024 has some guys who I think are likely to do very well at the next level (Dykes, Kaestner, Hetherington, Oliven) and subsequent years look to be more talented than that group.

I am assuming what you meant to say is that there will be all sorts of kids from the Non East Coast hot beds who will have better college lacrosse careers than many ranked above them on this list. Think few would argue with that. However, many on the list will also end up being appropriately ranked as well.

Perks of being the leading goal scorer on the best club team "ever" according to their youtube video. Oh, and Nepotism.

I saw Team91 MD 2025's warm up this year and they were legitimately practicing plays (in summer ball, yuck). Weirdly enough, they always seemed to set up Millon.

A less tough Spallina, and more immobile.
Listen, I'm as sick as anyone else with dad touting his son all over social media. The #1 ranking is based mostly out of no one else matching his dad's marketing power.

But if you put the hype aside, the kid is at least good enough to be in the top 10 conversation.

You also think he's immobile?

The one thing that actually jumps off the page with me is that kid's ability to move and play from X, on the wing, or up top. His CoD is better than any other Hs players in recent memory.

Ding him on his occasional lax selfishness and showing up little in big moments, but the kid's mobility is not an issue.

Last year it took till the 4th of the month for someone to verbal, so this isn’t true.

I was waiting to see who would lead off with the personal attacks about nepotism against the Millons which says more about them than the Millons. A top ranking anywhere before the start of Junior year is meaningless in the greater scheme but really………..Kids a very good player who was a stud in one of the toughest leagues as a sophomore. No idea whether he is best or not.

What's the personal attack? Exactly what does it say about them more than the MIllons?

Per IL
.@UVAMensLax keeps the Haverford (Pa.) pipeline going with @ILPreps’ No. 31 junior face-off specialist Griff Meyer. Built tough with a 5’6, 190 lb. frame, Meyer was a force for @91Maryland and at individual events, doing an excellent job setting up his O.

#2 for UNC
@UNCMensLacrosse breaks into the stacked @91Maryland ‘25 team by adding Gilman LSM Harrison Schline.

Schline will follow family lineage at UNC. He’s a presence off the ground and on the faceoff wings. Looks the part at about 6-3, 185.

@ILPreps’ No. 33 junior Colin Kenney ‘25, A, Noble & Greenough (Mass.) / @LXCMinutemen commits to @NDlacrosse. A powerful 6’2, 215-pound goal scorer from the wing, Kenney had a balanced 34G/30A season for the ISL champs
