Get used to hijacks friend.

And Joe is a fun guy who loves the Big Red and the Jets in sushi a way his biases are fun to play out.

But most importantly there’s very little serious one can say about any ranking after 1.5 weeks of lacrosse where half the D1 universe is getting lower back injuries from shoveling snow and we’re a month from conference play.

Yes FFG, but you have to admit that I am very honest and upfront about my Big Red/Ivy biases and will readily admit that they tend to cloud some of my views. I am the first to admit that the Big Red did not look great against Albany but still got the W , so I will keep them #2. Can't wait until the game in Geneva. Love when we play Bart. Good luck on a great season up there.

I love it! Me too with Bart and I just wrote what might appear to be an absolute flaming of the institution on our thread but it’s open, upfront and fun.

It’s the guys that pretend to be unbiased but betray that frequently that are no fun. This is what sports and fandom is all about. And the fact you love the jets despite what one might call “a lack of any noteworthy success since we left the gold standard” makes it even better. A true ride or die fan.

If you kept Brown ranked I might have to wonder though…

I know theirs some frustration up there with the way they handle their business and their sports and as alumni, we have every right to express our views and concerns. Your views are always with the intent on making the university better and I respect that.
Yeah, not only did I take Brown out but put the team that beat them in. In Browns defense, they lost just about all their scoring from last year.

IL’s latest

Rank Team Points Prev
1 Virginia (2 - 0) 517 (24) 1
2 Notre Dame (2 - 0) 458 (1) 3
3 Princeton (1 - 0) 428 4
4 Cornell (1 - 0) 422 2
5 Yale (1 - 0) 409 5
6 Loyola (2 - 0) 401 (1) 11
7 Penn (1 - 0) 386 10
8 Ohio State (3 - 0) 373 6
9 Maryland (2 - 1) 345
So far, these sure do look like the 9 top teams, as far as the order
you can swap positions for any of those 9, except for UVA at
number one.
And again, right now Loyola is looking like the second best squad out there based on production to date.

My son has Griffin King (M) on his fantasy team (ours, but I want him to take ownership as he begged me to do it for a year) so I'm keeping an eye on him, Sam King (our first pick this year) and a FY at Yale named Brody Coleman. We took a Balt centric team and picked mostly Ivy guys (and Matt Licata at Nova) and CNY guys like G King and Coleman. So along w Cornell and we have Dart this year I'll be paying more attention than I have to the IVY's since Ben Reeves was at Yale and I'd cry into my beers every time he played....

Notre Dame is probably top 5-7 but they are chewing up lesser comp so far. Blanchard getting beat ny UNC's FOGO (after crushing it first two games) should be of concern for them. Penn is known but GT looks like they have some restructuring to do still so not sure those wins are great. I feel like Loyola should be #2 right now. Would probably drop Yale into 3/4 w MD (that Richmond monkey stomp and win over Cuse are as strong as as any two wins except maybe Loyola though I expect Cuse to beat Hop this year).

It's so early everything will change I would expect but my top 5 right now would be some order of UVA, Loy, UMD, Yale and ND. Cornell may be there, but not seeing it in that first game vs Albany. Not sure yet on Penn, PTon, OSU and Cornell.

Also why transitive property never works and yet we all get sucked into it and often ignore the fact that individual strength and weakness matchups matter.

Any chance you could help me get to my 8 degrees of separation with Natalie Portman? Then assist in the disintermediation of that chain??

After Virginia (and maybe ND) feels like you can argue almost anything at this point. Seems a lot more wide open (with a lot more parity) than it’s been in years. We’ll see if this continues or if there ends up with a clear top 10 or so.

Why Notre Dane so high? They haven’t beaten any of your top 25 teams.

I have a feeling a lot of polls are going to have a Schrödinger’s Georgetown, which exists simultaneously in two different positions in the rankings….

Neither has my own Big Red although Lehigh may have been close in some polls. With Notre Dame and to some extent, Cornell, their array of talent is just too hard to ignore, and so I anticipate with both teams that their massive amount of talent will easily make them both Top 5 teams.

Maybe, because every team will lose eventually, but I find these kinds of posts amusing. Glad I don’t have my heart dashed every year by a perenially over rated Georgetown. Are they 0-4 or 0-5 and counting, dating back to last season? Until proven otherwise, they have had about the same amount of success in the NCAA as Cleveland State. Thank God for the weak conference and auto bid. They still have a chance.
