Could Michigan end up being one? The talent is Coach Conry's, and they will be more experienced than in the past couple of years.

They should be better in goal this season. Will Mark from LIU is the presumed starter and they have a five star freshman in Jimmy McCool as well. I do have big concerns regarding the faceoff unit. They brought in a transfer from Cansius who won over 50% last year but he didn’t fare well against upper echelon teams. I worry they will be trading one problem area from last year for another this year (goalie to fogo) and it will be a wash.

Even with Curry and Dordevic gone I think the offense will be better. Not their fault as they had little to no help last year. The top nine from last year to this will most likely be completely different.

Hopefully this year they show some steady improvement (especially on defense) and get to a .500 record. I think the following year they could be really special.

I like Penn State as a turnaround team. They had some significant injuries last year including TJ Malone and get some of those players back this year. Plus they had a very young offense last year and you’d have to expect those players to improve (Will Peden comes to mind as the teams leading scorer). They were really bad at faceoffs and should be better this year with transfers. Big Ten seems wide open after Maryland.

If you are going to include Duke I guess Notre Dame needs to be included. They really turned things around after their freshman fogo figured things out. If they continue the momentum from the end of last year they should be a final four team.
Agreed that face/off is a question mark - does anyone know how the Canisius guy has performed in fall? Seems like there are some talented athletes returning on the wings (and in particular, LSM Olexo), so I don't think the situation is as bad as some are suggesting.

And the LIU transfer, Will Mark, may be the best goalie in the country this year. He was one of the best last year, and I don't see that changing.

I'm looking forward to the Vermont game. Cuse is a 1.5 point favorite. I think that ignores the impact Will Mark is going to have.
The Vermont game will be a fascinating watch. Vermont lost a ton offensively but their FOGO is an AA and may not lost a faceoff all game. SU is way more talented but if they can't win a faceoff that's gonna be a major problem.

With a solid, winning season and a conference tournament title(which would mean a trip to the NCAA Tournament), Towson would definitely earn a spot on this list.

Tigers have been re-building/building since that 2019 team - at one point they were ranked number one, number six seed in the NCAAs.

Nick DeMaio and Kyle Berkeley from the Terps of course are the
players to watch and showed themselves to be All American
caliber. Top 10 incoming freshmen Michael Weisshaar is expected
back from injury about midway through the season.

Call me slightly optimistic but I have a inkling that loyola might surprise some teams this year

They lose Olmstead and lindley at attack but return a more natural QB attackman with a nice supporting cast of scorers. A very very good freshman class can possibly make an impact in the midfield, where coaches are now not afraid to have lineup changes.

Defensive wise they return pretty much all of Close D and short-sticks but they lose in the specialist position for Goalie, FO and LSM.

There’s a glam rock version of that song done by a band I liked and my dad took me to when I was 8/9 called the Bulletboys (war memorial this bootleg arena in a Rochester)

Only followed them a little.

I remember seeing Red Hot Chili Peppers opened for an LA hair
band at one of those run down Venice area arenas.

Very cool. Never seen them a kind of bucket list though wouldn’t be the same now. Apparently a good friend saw the Chili Peppers play at an airport hangar.

I liked a lot of those band as a kid, Whitesnake, Def Leppard, Ratt, etc. even had a Jean jacket with a bunch of patches in 5th grade.

BTW if we’re counting the NY giants then how about the Jaguars for most improved?

Is it ok to nominate a team that lost four games last year, two thumpings by the NC, one drubbing by a rival who didn’t even make the NCAAT, and a convincing loss to a neighbor who is a rising mid-major?
