Joe, you’re hilarious (I can only guess how much beer you’ve consumed in the last 21 hours), however Quint has not been nearly as bad as Carc or Anish. Those two are from the “burn it all down” school when they don’t get what they want, and it’s hurting the game.

There’s a very simple riposte to any claim that the ACC got jobbed - how many OOC top-ten wins did UVa, ND, and Duke combine for? Zero.

I have to admit that I found a great beer by Ithaca Beer Company called FLOWER POWER. I bought a couple 6 packs and ever since yesterday and news of 6 Ivies, I have been enjoying both the Beer, the glow of the Ivies and this forum. Great time to be an Ivy fan. I am buying a case of FLOWER POWER for the weekend.
By the way, did you catch the Reingold reference? Every time I hear that awful beer, I think of Ralph Kiner and Lindsey Nelson.

When i was at Cornell, the best deal was I believe on Wednesday night's at the North Campus Tavern, yup tavern in North Campus, where you would get 4 Old Vienna skinny for a Buck. We would each bring like 3 bucks and get a 12 pack. I think each was like 6 ounces but when you are a broke college kid and could get 12 beers for 3 bucks, you jumped at it.

They had a tavern in North Campus? Where?? Lived a couple of years on NC right before they developed the hell out of it.

Host: so Quint what do you think about the Ivies getting 6 teams in the tournament?
Quint: Look, those Eggheads are good at being President, landing robots on Mars, and making great supreme court justices but they just suck in Lacrosse.
Host: Well Quint, their OOC record was the best in D1.
Quint: PLEASE don't bring up bogus effing facts. We conclusively proved that every 1 goal win by those stuck up bastards was complete luck.
Host: You know Quint, your butt-kissing ACC got only one team in and it wasn't even seeded?
Quint: look, us ACC guys don't need some stinking Ncaa tournament to prove that we can beat ANY damn team with RPIS greater than 50, and that Woodruff broad better go back to cooking dinner and bringing her old man a Reingold whenever he wants one.
Host: well Quint, this has certainly been enlightening and by the way, how are you spending your Memorial day weekend.
Quint: I'm making Dolls of EVERY IVY COACH, especially that Buccek dude from Cornell and sticking pins in him, every time his worthless team scores a goal.
Host: thanks Quint, and tell crack and anus, I said hello.

I don’t think Rheingold was still around when I was on the hill. Saranac was the local brew of choice, which I suppose is probably too good for college students. We drank rolling rock if we were slumming it.
I actually like Rolling Rock .

My buddy introduced me to Rolling Rock 20 years ago when we were in college and it's still our go to beer when we get together! It's definitely underrated in my opinion.
Rolling rock is not bad for cheap beer. Definitely beats Pabst.

They had a tavern in North Campus? Where?? Lived a couple of years on NC right before they developed the hell out of it.
I graduated in 81. Lived on West Campus as a Freshman (in U Hall 4). West Campus had a bar in Noyes Center - the Noyes Center Pub. It was 50 feet from U Hall 4. Pitchers were 75 cents. North Campus had a bar in the student center called the Thirsty Bear.

I drank Piels Real Draft in cans. PBR at the Pub. Matts beer balls at lax and football games.

Cool. 99/01 for me, lived in Dickson. Guessing they converted the Thirsty Bear into the Bear Necessities that was in RPCC.

Man… I gotta go back and visit. And take my family with me.

Didn’t hurt the ACC but it did fundamentally alter people’s perceptions.

On April 4th, Notre Dame was 13th in the MP at 3-4, they had beaten Detroit, Michigan, Cuse. They were behind Ohio State and Harvard for comparison in MP. Everyone acknowledged ND could still make tournament but it would take a lot to go right, not just them winning out cause they’d lost all their big OOC games. That weekend, Carc starts calling them “the best 4-4 team in the country” and says Notre Dame can play for a national championship “because of their pieces” or whatever. At this point the stage is set all month for us being told Notre Dame can win the national championship even though all the national title contenders they played…they lost too. And they hammered that at people again and again and again until it stuck and people assumed ND had to be in even though their resume was entirely 2 wins over a Duke team that no one even thinks is a Top 10 team. we were told ND is a title team so therefore they are and they have to be in. No one grappled with the fact Harvard has a better win, better 2 wins in fact.

It was almost gaslighting

Notre Dame is a good team, but their coaching staff took some risks this year, with eyes wide open:

1) They assumed that Duke would be as strong as ever (it wasn't).
2) They assumed that Cuse would be strong as ever (it wasn't).
3) They thought that they might beat Georgetown, Maryland, OSU or Virginia. They did not win any of those games.
4) They agreed (however the decision was made) to the idea of not holding an ACC tournament.
5) They played 12 games, and could have scheduled a few additional OOC games.

These were all logical bets to make. This year, they didn't turn out for them. The rules of RPI plus quality wins are the same as ever. Rutgers 2016, Cornell 2019, and other teams have met the same fate. ESPN and IL folks stirring things up is neither constructive nor sportsmanlike.

The entire ACC scheduled with an assumption they’d all win their OOC games like last year and that it’d boost their #’s like last year and they’d be easy cases

Virginia: Outside of Maryland, second best non-con opponent was…Richmond? No Ivy teams. No Georgetown or Denver. No B1G outside MD/JHU. It was rather weak.

Duke: So many games. But no B1G teams. Only 1 Ivy League team. Best 3 leagues aside from ACC were B1G/Ivy/Big East…Duke scheduled 2 games vs those 3 leagues and 9 games vs everyone else

North Carolina: 2 B1G in OSU/Hop. 1 Ivy in Brown. 1 Big East in Denver. Not bad; but also scheduled Colgate, Bellarmine, High Point.

Syracuse: Maryland and Cornell strong. After that…next best is Army and then Hobart?

Notre Dame: Strong schedule with MD/GTown/OSU. I know they have it tough with trying to get teams to come to south bend. However, ultimately, they scheduled 0 Ivy teams in a dominant Ivy year.

ACC also needs to go back to the tournament and drop the 6 conf games if they want to not just play 4. UVA and ND woulda been better off with not having played Syracuse twice and playing a better team. Imagine ND gets a second crack at UVA and not Cuse.
