Duke needs to figure out their midfield. Where was Montgomery this game....saw him early then seemed vanish.

I don't like Williams being out there with Montgomery and Caputo. It basically limits them to only two dodging options from the midfield because Williams is just a shooter and it really constricts and clogs up the middle of the field in their offense. UNC was working inside and out all game, Duke is all on the perimeter.

I think their defense is more of the issue. Adler has stood on his head in so many games. Just robbing shooters from in close. That defense gives up a lot of good looks.

Just when it appeared that UNC had wrapped things up, Duke made one more run, but it was not enough. Whoever said UNC by two doesn't count very well. Had Duke had won some face-offs, they would have been in it longer. UNC's ability to control possessions never allowed Duke to claw back. I've got the Heels one and Duke two.

I don’t like Duke’s midfield. Maybe the worst in the ACC.

Chris Gray is right up there with Mike French
in terms of points per performance,
he’s a machine.

Then you also missed Dano, yelling at someone to get their S together. Could t make out who it was. 😂🔥
I think he was saying it to the guys operating the clock. Gotta argue for as much time as possible when you're behind by that much!

Great game by UNC, and without arguably their best midfielder. They're playing better than anybody else right now and I think probably deserve the #1 seed. Hopefully that momentum carries into the NCAA Tournament.

Duke had been running a third midfield a little bit recently. They came with the same two units all day today in the heat.

IMO, he's the best player in the ACC. Weird to say but I think he's under appreciated.

Kudos to Breschi et.al. for honoring a former Tar Heel player at today's game. The team warmed up in #26 tee shirts,Dave Duffy's number at both Carolina and Garden City L.I.,N.Y. High School.Joe and the coaching staff wore those tee shirts throughout the game.

Dave graduated in 2004 (I believe Haus was his coach back then). He passed away at the age of 39 of a Pulmonary Embolism.

Congratulations to UNC on the victory. And congratulations for honoring Dave.

Chris Gray at BU 2018, 2019. 182 points 34 games 5.35 ppg
Gray has played 47 games the same number French played total. French leads 296 to 259.

The thing that sticks with me about Duke is that I’m not sure if they’re elite in any particular phase. They’re very good at everything; very good offense, very good defense, great faceoff. But I don’t know that they’re elite at any of them. Their results kind of bear this out. They’ve got 5 great wins over ND, UVA, UNC, Cuse, and Denver that they’ve won by a combined 6 goals. So all their big wins are close. Meanwhile their two losses by ND and UNC, they lost by a lot and in the 2nd had a big deficit throughout (were they within 3 at any point after going down 7-4?) UNC I know has an elite offense, ND an elite defense, Maryland maybe elite at both. But I’m not sure Duke is elite in any of those spots.

That ACC competition has pulled his numbers down.

Duke could easily be .500. A good team with Sowers ,ONeill and Montgomery with good fogo Naso and G Adler but their units other than attack look average. UNC has more balance and firepower . Could see UNC , ND and maybe UVA going farther in tourney
