Smart timeout.
Surprised....early in game but Syracuse looks complete D and O
Loyola D looks disjointed. They will need to keep doing well on draw or
its gonna be over by half.

I think the answer is no. That is, a check to the ponytail is not an automatic yellow. However, if the check is to the ponytail, it is darn close to the head, and still could be carded.

One thing about Syracuse, you can never be sure they won’t pass the ball on a free position shot. I’m surprised more teams don’t do it.

Both teams have 2 yellows at the half. I don’t know if I would typify Syracuse as being a chippy team.

They have always been very “aggressive” on D. Some might call them chippy

A lotta time left.

I think the cards are part of the way the Cuse plays defense. Not necessarily chippy; but super physical. They have really gotten to Loyola across the field.

I think it's more fair than calling UNC's defense yesterday thuggy, which some did. But IMO they don't cross the line from tough to play against to dangerous.

Wow, Cuse's D is like a boa constrictor they just keep squeezing and squeezing til you don't have much room to breathe. Pretty impressive. First thirty minutes after a fifty week lay off, next thirty minutes are going to be tough. Absolutely love the way Megan Carney plays lacrosse. Girl's got great wrists and leverage, very nifty player...several good players on the field on both sides.

Cuse defense making it really hard for Loyola to get settled and comfortable. Very well executed. I wonder if they'll be able to sustain it for another half, that style takes a lot of energy.

Think Loyola GK is a little susceptible to the low ball?

Agree. No wasted chit chat and does a nice job analyzing play on the field. The men who do color for men’s NCAA games should follow her role.

She appears to have a better handle on this game than Coach Adams.

The consensus reached yesterday was that UNC is not a typically thuggy team, though for a stretch in the first half there were a couple of head fouls by the Heels that could be viewed as thuggy.
