What the SSC is doing with conference only games is not completely uncommon in this pandemic year. I believe the NE10 is doing something similar as well.
With reduced schedules anyway, the number of out of conference games is more limited than what you would get in a normal year. Just makes the selection process harder, and maybe a bit more "iffy" to appropriately determine the teams asked to the dance, so to speak.
Agree Red to a point. Look at UMO
https://umotrojans.com/sports/mens-lacrosse/schedule. They have their conference games, but did well with outside conference selections in Wingate, Queens, Catawba and CMU. IMO Tampa could have scheduled outside games but choose not to. Might hurt them come section time when the strength of schedule counts...
But if the Conference (and the member university presidents who control the policy) wanted to do it this way Tampa would have no recourse. I suspect that may very well be what is going on...
For the last several years the SSC is one of the strongest conferences according to my calculations of the KRACH ratings. But if there are truly no OOC games for the SSC, it will be quite interesting how the algorithms that the NCAA uses will evaluate their records...

Jakester and Red -- I know in the case of the GLVC it was a conference decision, and there was no flexibility for member schools. Knowing Tampa's typical schedule, my guess is that the SSC did the same.

How many at large bids are there this year? and it will be interesting with conferences in the SAC because that conference is going to brutal and a conference like the GLVC which is top heavy.

All places in the tourney are at large. 5 North, 5 South region. No AQs.

The loss for Lenoir-Rhyne is against a DI opponent, and will have no bearing on NCAA selection.

Obviously it's early but I don't like when teams haven't played a game yet they're #1 and #2. But this will be resolved soon enough...

Agreed - but so then, do you rank them at all? I don't know what the answer is, but it's kinda funny that there are four teams in the top eleven with a combined record of 0-1.
Even once they start playing, how long does Tampa get the ranking benefit of past seasons? It's an effect of the pandemic for sure, but Tampa could very well end the year 10-0 with zero wins against ranked opponents, AND be ranked #1 simply because they started there on reputation.

The USILA Polls is by the coaches, and I don't think polling will affect the overall brackets. A couple years ago Tampa/ finished the season ranked higher than St. Leo's in the poll, but St. Leo's hosted Tampa due to regional criteria.
I've also seen in recent weeks schools like Florida Southern and other SSC schools fall out of the rankings because the polling coaches value the wins of Maryville and others. I am sure the polling coaches watch many of the D2 games and make their selections on observations.
I could see the winner of the Mercyhurst/Seton Hill game or the winner of Lenoir Rhyne/Wingate overtaking Tampa/Le Moyne in the polls in the coming weeks.
Still very odd Le Moyne does not have their schedule posted.

First, there is NO bearing on the selections for the NCAA tourney from any poll, coaches or otherwise in DII. You can go to ncaa.org, and under DII->Championships find any particular sport and when available download the PreChampionship manual (last I checked they still had last year's version). It has all the criteria used, and I don't think there were any changes last year.
Le Moyne's schedule is actually available (along with all the other NE10 schools) at:
https://www.northeast10.org/sports/mlax ... 1/schedule

Seton Hill was 3 and Hurst 4, they shouldn’t be penalized as heavily as they were. On a different note, how is Mount Olive ranked so high?
