The NCAA tournament odds just improved for Georgetown, Villanova, and Denver.

If nothing else changes, do we have 8 AQs, 8 at larges and lose the play in game?
That makes sense to me.

St John's just had a team meeting ending the season. Sad day for all involved. Now the mad scramble to get the freshman athletes out of the dorms by tomorrow and back home. The upperclassmen live off campus so that's a little less hectic. Not happy that they're giving the dorm kids 24 hours to bug out. Not that the closure is a surprise, but a little more time to coordinate would have been nice especially for the families who aren't in the Tri-State area. Need to buy a plane ticket now...

For the record:

"The BIG EAST Conference has announced the cancellation of all 2020 BIG EAST springs sports competitions, effective immediately. This decision follows today's NCAA announcement to cancel all winter and spring championships."

The NCAA Council Coordination Committee has "agreed to grant relief for the use of a season of competition for student-athletes who have participated in spring sports," Stadium college basketball reporter Jeff Goodman tweeted Friday afternoon.

Ten minutes later, The Athletic's Nicole Auerbach tweeted, "Per source, NCAA sent a note to membership today saying it believes 'it will be appropriate to grant relief for the use of a season for competition for student-athletes who have participated in spring sports.'"

How this plays out is anybody’s guess. Scholarship money, 5 classes of players, transfer portal explosion, non seniors retaining another year possibly (NCAA statement mentions all spring athletes not just seniors). No lacrosse games but a lot to discuss.
