can't have a 2 game sweep, wish they would go back to 2 regular season games and then a playoff but LI will be tough to beat all the way through

Couple of teams that might challenge the mighty LI teams in this tournament .

A - Corning
B - Victor (by now everybody's heard of them), John Jay
C - Jamesville DeWitt
D - Lafayette (playing well right now), Briarcliff

A - Most likely LI win
B - Most competitive IMO, state semis should be dandy
C - Favorite has got to be JD
D - Don't think anyone favored - S 1/3/4/5/11 could win

Strong day of lacrosse in the Southern Tier t'row in the Sect 3/Sect 4 matchups.

15-1 Corning gets a home game against Baldwinsville in A. The Hawks lost their first game of the year and then ran the table, including a late season win over Victor. However, any top team from Sect 3 gets immediate respect. The Bees smoked West Genny to get here. Should be an excellent game.

B - Not sure how good this Vestal Bears team is. They've had recent 'good' loss to B'ville so maybe they can hang with Fayetteville Manlius. Same note as above about Sect 3 team. No doubt FM would love to get another crack at Victor.

C - I'd expect JD to empty the bench t'row in their anticipated win. Owego might be taken to the woodshed early.

The last game of the day, the D's, should be lights out electric. The Lancers have put it all together suddenly and are reminiscent of the great 2009 team. They dropped one to Chenango Forks earlier (12-11) so they'll seek payback. They're riding a 4 game win streak and their fans will turn out. Forks were in the semis in last year's states after beating CBA out of Syracuse in this same game. They recently hung with Corning but had a poor showing against a so-so Ithaca team. They did thump Vestal earlier in year. That team will need to show up and be on their game to stop Lafayette.

In the West it'll probably be a tough day for the Buffalo teams at St John Fisher. OP and Hamburg might put up a fight in their games vs Fairport and Victor but not for 4 quarters. Eden got a taste of Penn Yan earlier and it was a 0-14 whitewash. East Aurora looks like they played one Sect 5 team this year. They got wrecked by Greece 12-3. Geneva handled Greece by 3-4 goals so Geneva is a heavy favorite. They did fall last year to West Seneca East in this same game so I think they'll learn from that and be ready from minute one. And then it'll be time for Buffalo to focus on the loser Bills summer news.

No grogginess in the Bees in 10am start. It’s looking like the Penn St semi final redux as it’s Baldwinsville 7 hometown Corning 0 after 1 period.

On the west half of bracket:
A - Can’t see Fairport having a struggle with Orchard Park which didn’t look particularly strong in their section title win.
B - Ditto here with Victor-Hamburg.
C- East Aurora played well in their section title win and loos about equal to Geneva I believe.
D - Eden, the S6 #3 seed totally outclassed #1 Salamanca and has talent and depth. They’re more conventional than the typical D team from 6. Their fogo totally dominated so at least it’s not a weakness. Could be a better than expected game if Eden can put in some goals.

U Fairport up 2-1 at end of 3Q on OP. It was 0-0 at halftime. It's not raining or snowing or cold so shocking lack of offense today.

9-3 Bees over Corning after 3. Can’t see Hawks getting back into this one.

Fairport puts away Orchard Park in final minutes of Q4, final is 5-1. Regular season this was a 12-3 home win for Red Raiders, so credit OP for their effort today. On the other hand, not a convincing win by Fpt but a win is a win, as they say. They'll need to find some more offense to run with B'ville.

Massapequa 10-5 in early Q4. Does WM have any magic left?

Bville 12-4F. They'll head to Rochester to meet Fairport.

Wow! Though 11A was not their strongest this year, still a very nice win. Looks like Pequa, B’Ville or Mameroneck for A unless Fairport picks it up, nice to potentially see some new faces.
