Not much of a contest as far as tournament games go,

but the Hens have been playing well.

Surprising No Show from Drexel today. Didn't look they had a lot of heart to be out there today.

Hens enjoy a laugher. But they are going to be facing a lot more resistance on Saturday regardless of who they face.

Text to my kid: "LOOK AT WHAT DELAWARE IS DOING TO DREXEL!" 14 of the 15 conference games were decided by four goals or less. 9 were two or less. The most lopsided regular season game was UMass 13-7 on Drexel last week. This is nutty.

19-6 final.

Also like it was a team effort from Delaware to say "Hey CAA coaches, you'll need to reconsider your offensive MVP" with Robinson, Kurtz and Ward all saying "yeah, you picked wrong".

Drexel's top 5 points guys combined for 1G, 3A today. Sheesh. Stunner.

I like Mulcahy a lot. But there is no way he is the offensive player of the year in the CAA. I can think of at least 4 guys in the conference that I would take over him. Kevin Tobin, Tye Kurtz, James Avanzato and Mike Robinson were all more worthy of that award. But who really cares?

Drexel, unfortunately or fortunately,

needs to turn over there roster - and you see this on other
teams, players have been on teams 5-6 years with the covid.

They need to get some new blood in there.

And coaches even, they get used to rolling out the same
players game after game.

I have to admit,

this is the final I prefer,
Tigers - Hens.

You got it, 10Stone5.

Ironically, Hofstra's only conference wins this year came against these two teams.

Wonder what next year will be like with a new configuration.

Assuming FFD is gone it’s SBU, HOf, Drexel, Del and Towson correct? Is that enough for an AQ?

Interesting that a conference with so many close regular season games to have largest margins all year in tourney.
almost 50% (7 out of 15) of regular season games were decided by 1 goal

Del beat Drex by 13 (won regular season by 1)
Tow beat UMass by +8 (won regular season by 3)

margins during the regular season
1 game decided by 6
0 games decided by 5
1 games decided by 4
4 games decided by 3
2 games decided by 2
and
7 games decided by 1

Ahh forgot about them. Recall a discussion about pro forma where someone wanted to suggest Monmouth and Fairfield were about equal. I don’t see that at all’s. Core group still intact and the LI “rivalry” of SBU and Hof should be fun as in conference but does feel a little lighter swapping UMass/FFD for SBU/Monmouth/Hampton. Surely on a pure RPI basis, unfortunately and I hope this changes one day, Hampton will have an impact on getting at larges down the Road.

Those five,

with Monmouth and Hampton bringing up the rear,
so for the time being, it’ll be 5 teams competing for
the 4 CAA tournament spots.

From the looks of it, the conference gets weaker by losing UMass and Fairfield. Obviously Stony Brook will be a good addition, but losing UMass hurts - they were one of, if not the most consistent team in the conference.

Yeah,

Monmouth has had their moments, they beat a good Villanova
team and got to the NCAAs a few years back, so hopefully this
move encourages them to get more competitive.
