Colfer leaving Cabrini for Episcopal Academy.

And no spot to fill, because Cabrini has been sold to Villanova, ceasing independent operations after 23-24

Looks like Cabrini will be sold to Villanova and stop playing D-3 sports. I had heard they were having financial issues but it seems that it was worse that’s I had heard

Unbelievable. Had no clue it was that bad/going that direction.

One would think that the portal will be getting a few (more) names in it

Wow...that's shocking.

EDIT: They were listed as mediocre but not dire in the latest Forbes report on the financial health of private colleges and universities. I'm really surprised by this;

Hearing that both Ithaca and Catholic are having Candidates on Campus this week.

Ithaca has one D1 assistant and a couple current HC’s not sure of the levels or who’s in the mix. D1 is an Assistant that Coaches at an A10 school and is familiar with Upstate.

Sounds like Capital is in a similar situation and timeline bringing candidates on campus all week .. salary may be an issue. Mid to Low 60’s

An A10 school you say....that's not a Patriot League school....strange....

A10 Assistants with Upstate NY lacrosse connections:

Paul Richards - Associate Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator @ Richmond - Former assistant at Cornell
Scott Meehan - Associate Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator @ St. Joseph's - Former assistant at Binghamton
Stephen Brundage - Offensive Coordinator @ Hobart - Went to West Genesee HS
Gill Conners - Associate Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator @ St. Bonaventure - Former assistant at Siena, played at Onondaga Community College

Brundage might make the most sense. I understand that Paul Richards has turned down opportunities to interview at more high profile D1 schools in part because his wife and family have become very tied into the Richmond area. I think that they’d be out of their price range to get him unless some circumstances have changed.

Mid to low 60’s - can that even come close to getting a D1 #2 like Brundage? I would think he’s closer to 100 now

It’s not uncommon for coaches to go through interview process with no intention of accepting the job only to facilitate a raise for themselves.

Seems like they can’t hold a coach more then 6 months and if not mistaken I think that’s 4 coaches in 4 years.

I think Lycoming has their guy. Probably waiting on background checks and what not before an announcement. I also heard the last coach was approached by a couple of schools still open but is staying out of the coaching game to spend more time with family.

Does Immaculata slide up the list of attractive jobs with the Cabrini news? Gwynedd Mercy & Marymount seem a little further ahead, but the AE seems more of an open path to an AQ than other conferences.

Gwynedd Mercy has the slight advantage, IMO. Cabrini out of the AEC means they will be down to 6. They need to add (at least) an associate member or AQ will go away

New rule passed that 6 teams is enough to get AQ. Because it was brought up when the Coast 2 coast league formed last year. 6 teams only

So they are ok for now unless another team drops. But even so they would get a 2 year window to get someone else. But 6 = AQ
