I like to tap birch in the spring with my wolf companion, Larry. Besides being a nourishing elixir it also makes a wonderful final rinse for my mullet. Giving it a silky, healthy sheen. Then I reserve that rinse and use it to soak my toenails before being trimmed by my beaver, Ludwig.

I'm not a fan of regular candy corn. I know I'll pass on this.

On their website, Brach's calls the bag a "sweet and savory Thanksgiving feast."

After 54 years, an amateur made film gem was rediscovered at the Washburn High School in Minneapolis:

The earliest known Batman fan-film based on the 1966 television series, and the third known Batman fan-film ever made. This 16mm footage was shot at Washburn High School and the surrounding areas of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota, by members of the Washburn senior class in April and May of 1966 (just 3 months after the release of the Batman TV series). Popular local venues shown in the footage include Porky’s Drive-In Restaurant, The Richfield Lanes Bowling Alley and Blue Cue Billiard Lounge, and the Tom-Tom Drive-In which was used for the exterior scenes of the Smut gang hideout.

Fully costumed and staged from gargoyle to Batmobile, what started off as a fun project conceived by members of the high school debate club (Olson, Ashman, and Smith) the film ended up being used to raise money to bring foreign exchange students to Washburn and was featured on the local WCCO-TV evening news with costumed appearances of Batman and Robin at the Minnesota Twins baseball stadium on Bat Day.

Locals here in Lake Wobegone love it. Several of the venues in this gem (such as Porkie's) no longer exist. Sure was a very different time back then.

Penny had a foul disposition, and with Penny you got no change so they cashed her in for dinner.
Now someone will enjoy the richness of her flavor (and they are mighty tasty) though many will
say she got short changed on this deal.

Beach Volleyball Bikini Ban Leads to Top Players Boycotting Tournament

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/more-s ... d=msedgntp

Two German beach volleyball stars will boycott a tournament in Qatar over the nation's refusal to allow female players to wear bikinis on the court.

Karla Borger, who won a silver medal at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, and her doubles partner, Julia Sude, will not take part in the FIVB World Tour event in Doha as Qatar is "the only country" which mandates female players to wear shirts and long trousers.

"We are there to do our job, but are being prevented from wearing our work clothes," Borger told radio station Deutschlandfunk on Sunday.

"This is really the only country and the only tournament where a government tells us how to do our job—we are criticizing that. [...] We are asking whether it's necessary to hold a tournament there at all."

Qatar has hosted a men's beach volleyball competition over the last seven years, but next month's FIVB World Tour event will mark the first time the nation will stage a women's tournament.

In a separate interview with Der Spiegel magazine, the duo said they were happy to "adapt to any country" in normal circumstances, but would not comply with the demands of the organizers of the event in Doha ...

Eastview High School wins high kick dance competition. It is the only team with a male dancer on the squad:

Sadly, he will not dance at the collegiate level. Would have been interesting to see his work evolve as he got older.

Mikayla Holmgren already made history by competing in the Miss Minnesota USA pageant

Mikayla Holmgren has already made history, and she's hoping to do it again.

The 26-year-old became the first woman with Down syndrome to compete in a Miss USA pageant in 2017 when she entered Minnesota's competition. But Holmgren is now hoping to cross another barrier by becoming the first female model with Down syndrome to be featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit.

Holmgren hopes to be an inspiration for many people who have her condition. About one in every 700 people in the U.S. are born with Down syndrome, which occurs when an individual is born with an extra copy of chromosome 21, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. About 6,000 babies in the U.S. are born with the chromosomal condition each year ...
