I've watched plenty of the takeovers and virtual campus tours you mention. But what Maryland does on their social media platforms regarding their past achievements is a different thing entirely.

I scanned their Instagram account and the last time they mention winning multiple national championships is October 2019 and it was because Cathy Reese was announced as being inducted into the National Lacrosse HOF. Other posts about previous achievements are mostly in conjunction with current events - Colson voted DOY so they celebrate her and mention 8 out of the last 11 have been terps. In spring 2020 there was a lot of reminiscing but that was on every programs Instagram account because of the canceled season. Other than that they’ve referenced specific championship years maybe 4-5 times over the last 14 months?

Perhaps no one else does it because they can’t. Who’s got accolades that come close to Maryland’s? Individual and program? It never really bothered me because it’s THEIR social media account and it’s purpose is to promote their program. But if it irks you so maybe don’t follow them.

Twitter just ain’t hep for all the young cool cats anymore ... all to say, Maryland doesn’t have prospective recruits as their target audience via the Twitter platform.

Go back and read your original post. You alleged no one over 18 was a target.

A lot of the graphics used on Twitter are also used on Instagram. The same graphic posted was posted to their Instagram story.

Is there really an argument over whether MD should be posting this information the week of 9/1 when recruiting begins for the class of 2023?

Maryland doesn’t confine their chest-thumping comportment via social media only to recruiting season. It’s an all year long thing. Regular season, postseason, off-season, fall ball season, etc. You pick the season, the Twerps will be crowin’. And yes, I always find bragging about one’s accomplishments to be distasteful. If that makes me a “hater“, then so be it – now and forever more.

Actually yes, that pretty much is the definition of a hater.

A person that simply cannot be happy for another person's success. So rather than be happy they make a point of exposing a flaw in that person.

Perhaps they post more about championships and Tewy awards, etc because they have so many more than anyone else.

I will say, as a frequent quaffer of Balmer brews, there are some brewpubs/beers that I enjoy more than the original Natty/Nasty....Peabody Heights, Union Craft, Flying Dog, Heavy Seas, Full Tilt, Nepenthe, Mobtown....I could go on and on....
