Reading the Hopkins thread leads me to believe that The Wire was actually modeled on Charles St near Homewood.

But they still have a decent at large chance, whereas the other two practically have to win the tourney and AQ.

Yeah, but Hopkins is currently 6-6, so would be 6-7.
The leagues season is a short one, which in some ways seems even shorter as PSU appears like they will win all their games, and Michigan lose all theirs. OSU laid an egg against Rutgers and could not make up for it by upending UMd.

All that is reasonable. Still, I have a hard time seeing the NCAA committee giving berths to four B1G teams. If by some miracle Hopkins wins the AQ, then I think the committee would work to find some way to exclude OSU (beginning with the fact that OSU failed to reach their own conference tournament).

Can Michigan win this weekend? Will a Michigan win kill an at large for Ohio State?

Having watched both teams a good deal this season, I would be shocked to see Michigan win this one.

If Ohio State does lose this game, though, I think it would be their version of 2018 Bucknell's loss to BU. A killer bad loss that they can't afford.

OSU's only chance is for UMd and Rutgers to win, along with OSU beating Michigan.

OSU is not out of the woods w this Michigan game. This is Michigan’s Super Bowl, ESPNU Friday night. Last year 8-5 outcome. OSU starts missing the goal early, watch out!!

Even beating Michigan (3-9) will hurt OSU's RPI. Currently, they are ranked #8.
The biggest thing hurting OSU's chances might be SOS. OSU might be wishing they could play that cancelled Denver game. Of course, Denver's SOS is not that great either.

If you're OSU and you don't beat Michigan, you simply don't belong in the NCAA tournament.

Assuming this holds, and ether PSU or UMD wins the tournament, is the Big Ten a two-bid league?

Not the same team without LeClaire

Unless Hopkins or Rutgers grabs two wins the next six days over PSU and/or UMCP, yes.

Ohio State is toast.

True. He's only 1 of 2 OSU players that can win a 1-on-1 match up. His absence allowed Michigan to limit Jasinski. Still, even without LeClaire, Ohio St shouldn't lose to Michigan. Bad loss. Likely a season ending loss.

At the risk of sounding like a homer, if Hopkins wins tomorrow, their at-large case would be pretty good.

If Hopkins finishes 7-7, they are in the discussion. But it's highly dependent on how everything else goes. My gut feeling is that Hopkins would be bubble out in this scenario.

Wheels wrote: Fri Mar 15, 2019 1:46 pm Don't you all get the feeling that neither Denver nor OSU wanted to reschedule that game? A couple of years ago when weather forced the cancellation of the Maryland-Albany game, they rescheduled it midweek later in the season. That game for the Terps got sandwiched between games against highly ranked PSU and RU.

Granted, it's a little tougher go get from Denver to Columbus midweek....but....
Wonder if Myers and Tierney already regret not rescheduling this game. Denver is AQ or bust at this point. OSU could have used a win over DU.

That is quite a surprise result.
A big win for Michigan, their first over OSU.

Probably, knocks OSU out of the NCAAs.
