Excited to watch some games live this weekend. Have been out of the country and busy which is the pain with this summer schedule of games.

Cannons up 7-5 going into the 4th

Woods defense is playing above their weight but Kelly has bailed them out also with 12 saves.

Gray has looked good moved back down to attack, but this offense has no real flow. They're forcing a lot of looks inside and look sloppy. Garnsey in particular has been turning it over and Pannell has not been particularly effective.

Holman carrying the Cannons offense with 4 goals.

Pannell with a goal and another assist in the 4th and the Woods are up 9-7 with 5 minutes left. His play really unlocks this offense.

Atlas offense is just a different level, Outlaws a bit sloppy with the ball but Entenmann and the Atlas defense have been solid

Entenmann's save percentage was unbelievable for this level of play -- 77%, I believe. That didn't help Denver. And Jeff Teat tied the season scoring record with 44 points. Trying to shut him off just freed up the UVa duo to score at will.

All true, but O’Neill, Denver’s top billed weapon, had almost no touches. Unacceptable

O'Neill's subpar performance was thanks to Gavin Adler. Cornell grad led the scoring; Cornell grad helped shut down the scoring. LGR!

O’Neil not getting enough touches is on him, he needs to go get the ball, IMO he doesn’t want the ball.

Seeing Liam in cage probably brought on PTSD from facing him and ND's defense over the last few years.

lol very true, but seriously he could add so much do his game he plays lacrosse like a 3 point shooter in basketball, he needs to go to the cage like Zed and Notling do use is big frame more.

A lot of blame to share that five offensive players on Denver touched the ball 84 times while ONeill had only eight touches and took only three shots. Adler is a fine defender against most types but has been overpowered at times by larger strong players. Have to question game strategy and the occasional passiveness that gives some credence to those that critique. Perhaps the game being lopsided so quickly suppressed but Denver did have a amazing comeback just weeks earlier. Expected Atlas to win and cover but disappointed that it was a boring watch beyond some brilliant individual offensive plays by Atlas.

Good crowd in Boston separated it from other venues. Good play has generated fan appeal not by stuffing roster with average locals. Cannons offense does appear tied into Nolting drawing help, eventual return of Pat Kav should provide another fine creator and loosen that dependence. Cannons O struggled in 1st game yet flowed well in 2nd game ,their dm's are excellent and a key. Previously said that Redwoods have some talent that should eventually jell, doubt comeback win against Cannons marks a significant turn but it was a positive stride . Struggling to understand where Waterdogs stand , thought they'd beat home team playing back to back games , instead they blew 7-2 lead and their offense went stagnant despite their talent, o Sowers clearly integral but his departure was late in 4q, Currier is too unselfish, team too good to be 1-4 ... Archers O came into weekend struggling but it came to life against a whips d that was porous on and off ball that hung out Krebs, Fields is a highlight and others took advantage of open shots, Moore makes a difference . Archers goalie Dobson was brilliant making several good stops . Whips insertion of new faces on offense has ball moving much better and their outside shooting is improved. At break , Atlas have to be considered lead team at break but every team including them have some weaknesses that can be addressed. Expect a few changes. Not sure I like another interruption of season after the earlier one. All Star weekend doesn't stir most fans I know, rather have a known and dependable schedule

O'Neill was brutal. Something is off with him. It's not just this abreviated PLL season, there were many games this past college season where he was just a non factor. Yet, when he wants to be, he is among the most gifted O player ever.

2 week break is brutal, zero interest in all star game, they are running out of time to get things right. They need to play 3 weeks in a row

Agreed. Seeing as how the travel model is what it is for the time being, I like the “home team double header” idea. But the weekend structure leaves us with 2 weeks off for teams far too often.

The way the league has invested so much in “social media engagements,” one would think the data collected would reflect interest lost for the teams in those bye week stretches. Hopefully this spurs the league to figure out another way.

Maybe that's done so players can spin a story (e.g., 2 weeks on w/a week off) to keep the employers happy (for those w/real jobs).

Well my guess would be 80% of them have their jobs because they are lacrosse players( Alumni )

Maybe, a portion are full-time lacrosse guys with either coaching jobs or play NLL and do camps etc. to scratch together a decent wage. It's the other guys I was thinking about from good schools who may have just gotten a job offer from an on-campus interview.
