Re: My top 25
Good call on Michigan, I edited my original post to reflect them in. From 12-20 is so close. Other I considered having in at back half are Delaware, Bryant, St. Joe's and Lehigh. Ultimately went w/ Cuse, Harvard, Brown, Penn. But could just as well had these 4 in as the last 4 in in the poll.

Re: My top 25
Interesting that you have Georgetown, a 1-goal OT winner against a Marquette team coming off a midweek demolition at the hands of Cornell, leapfrog Virginia, who lost by a goal @ Duke, your #2 team.
Georgetown is like this year's ND: Early losses to against the stronger schools on their schedule, followed by decent (but not great) wins as they enter the easier part of their schedule. I'm not sure how they're @ #7 in the RPI; they have a couple of good, not great, wins, and some other wins against so-so competition. But I guess with RPI it's who you play, not who you beat.
Anyway, I can't see leapfrogging them over Virginia on the back of a 1-goal OT win over a team like Marquette.

It's better for Cornell if Syracuse loses to Virginia. If the ACC gets 4-5 at large bids, that's less for everyone else.joewillie78 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 18, 2023 7:06 pmMaybe. Absolutely right. Would be different if Gait hadn't dumped the Big Red from the Cuse schedule.

After 10 weeks, I think the USILA poll is accurate and reflects the teams that will be playing in the quarterfinals on May 20-21. The only wildcard is if Delaware wins the CAA.

After last night's performance, maybe it's Georgetown that's a bit low. That team they demolished beat #3 and #6.MoralTerpitude wrote: ↑Tue Apr 18, 2023 10:13 pmI think Cornell beats Penn State if they play this weekend, so Cornell at #4 for me. Skippass, you neglect the demolition of Syracuse in 2021. Regardless, I’ll take the bait. Should have won at Hopkins in 2018. Yale in 2019 is debatable. 2021 v Virginia was a beat down. Outclassed. Delaware last year was terrible - a train wreck you could see coming at the 56:00 mark. You aren’t wrong to call them out. This year anything goes. Which team shows up? Could win it all or could embarrass themselves.

Re: My top 25
2018 they were unseeded and lost to the 5 seed. 2019 unseeded lost to 5 seed (and eventual NC). Both of those years they only made the tournament because they won the Big East. 2021 they were the 5 seed and crushed unseeded Syracuse, but it being Syracuse, it was overblown and they were hyped up before losing (badly) to the 4 seed (and eventual NC) in the quarters.Comeonman wrote: ↑Thu Apr 20, 2023 9:44 pm Skippass, you neglect the demolition of Syracuse in 2021. 2022 was a big disappointment, but its the only actual time they've been upset in the tournament. The media seems to love to overhype the Hoyas beyond expectations, which is why I'm hoping they don't do it again now.
