Final Four Predictions (Poll)

Penn State at #5 is egregious. Quint trying to be provocative as usual. Last season he had Denver at #2 in a year virtually everyone else knew was going to be a bit of a rebuilding year for the Pios. The year before that he had Army at #7 (they went 5-8 that year). Always at least one or two total head scratchers. At least he's stopped ranking Rutgers in the top 10.

Egregious seems a little strong. #5 is still pretty high. It's not like he is putting PSU at #10 or #15.
PSU didn't win the title last year, and also lost two All-Americans to graduation.
They also don't have a strong winning tradition.
Quint seems to be questioning their overall depth:

Can the defense and role players do their share against upper echelon competition?

PSU won't sneak up on anyone this Spring.

PSU is on one of their runs, 24/31 = .774

Anyone else find it statistically curious that Cornell has received ~10% of the votes in the main poll in this thread (9 votes to win the NC), but only 1 person out of 31 (~3%) has picked them to even make the final four within the thread itself? Hurm...

My picks:

UVA comes back down to earth. Brown makes a strong run but falls short of the FF. JHU has another sub-mediocre season, makes the tourney anyway, gets blown out again in the first round. Syracuse disappoints in a tough ACC.

It is early but I like that Syracuse pick. The more I looked into them the more I liked their outlook. I am expecting that offense to be lights out but time will tell.

Didn't Virginia lose in one of their first outings to High Point last year? As I recall, they ended up having a decent season.

I put very little stock in what happens in February. And while for some teams such a loss might prove disastrous in terms of making the tourney as an at-large, Duke will have plenty more opportunities to prove themselves between now and the end of the season.
