This is on the BIG network and you can't bump the spring football games! How dare you even think a major rivalry lacrosse game would rate over spring football.

Is Kevin Tucker hurt? He's got great size and showed some good promise last year. I can't believe he could get some time on last year's historic team as a freshman but not able to crack this young lineup for a few minutes.

Should be a fun game to watch tomorrow, after Hopkins took a 4 year vacation from the series. I remember in 2019 thinking holy shett, Epstein is gonna score 100 goals on us over the next 3 years. Things turned around pretty good after those 2 extremely frustrating losses.

Not sure what happened with Tucker. Played some last year and in the fall. Only a sophomore, has time. Wish the game time would change eg Army-Navy. So disappointed with great weather week until game time!

Area if you are out there, where will game time change post if any? Still open stadium at 5pm according to email just received. Missed Albany game last year because did not know it was switched indoors

They will tweet out a change and email. I got an email last night that they moved the baseball game up.
I think at best it may delay but only for any lightning. Radar shows the storms being the worst from 1 to 5. They start to clear out around 6. Game will happen

STrongly advise bringing a poncho .. rain should pass by 630/7ish. i'm watching the radar now, could see a slight delay for warmups with the thunder/lightning.

Wouldve been nice if they game started at 8pm.. would've been dry for everyone but will still be there nonetheless!

don't think thunder or lightning is behind the front rolling thru very much. expect on time and wet early but not that bad.

Long with the routine timely turnover

The better team won. No doubt about that. Defense was generally good, as were Erksa and Maltz. Midfield was non-existent. Weren't gritty enough at times. Hopefully better in round 2 against Rutgers next week.

Wings got dominated. Offense had almost as many turnovers as shots in the last 3 quarters. Can have one of those and win with the defense playing the way they did and actually a pretty decent shooting day for this team (33%.) But can't have both.

Hopkins wanted it more, congrats to them. Great defensive effort by both teams. Not so much offensive by Maryland. Need more than just Erksa and Maltz.

Late hit to Makar. Helmet slash to Maltz. Clear out of bounds on Hopkins. All missed calls by the refs*. Takes away from a great 1 goal game. Whatever; what matters is ahead.

*I'm sure the Hopkins mob will point out 27 uncalled penalties on Maryland, so again, whatever, Hopkins deserved the win. Some uncharacteristic dumb offensive sets by Maryland in the 2nd half.

The first and second midfields for Maryland gave them nothing. Combined, they went for a whole 1 goal, 2 assists. That's just not enough production against good teams.

And Hopkins is good. Their defense was really swarming to the ball.

Hopkins defense was great, as was Maryland's. Besides the wrong out of bounds call, a Terp fan could also go back to the 1 play Zappitello went out and the freshman promptly got beat for a goal in about 10 seconds. Melendez's final goal was a dagger, but that was just a slightly better play by him than by Makar, who played it great.

Again, nice that this game doesn't matter. It all comes down to the bracket matchups in May.

Yeah, refs sucked and it was tilted more towards one side. Maryland has themselves to blame but not sure how you miss Scott Smith slew footing Erksa, a slash to the head on Maltz, a late hit on Redd's goal, terrible call on the endline leading to Hopkins 9th or 10th goal. Lot of bad stuff. Whatever. Is what it is.

Whittier and Spanos and Erksa and Malever will be a tremendous foundation for the offense for years to come but relying on 3 freshmen to break through and be your Guys to make a run is going to result in games that look like tonight. The first midfield, and I have a ton of respect for what they've done for the program, is the worst first midfield we've run out in the Tillman era. They got 10 goals from them in Big Ten play. That's just not going to cut it. When the 2nd MF steps up and plays like a 1st MF unit - like they did against Ohio State - then this team can win games. When Luke dominates on draws and they can shrink the game like he did against Rutgers, they can win games. But if the 2nd MF is quiet and they're -5 in possessions, it ain't happening. Fact they still only lost by 1 despite that is a testament to how incredible defense played. As well as how good Erksa + Maltz were.

I think they'll win their 1st Round game. 2nd Round all comes down to FOs and the young fellas. Frankly, considering the opponent is probably going to be one of ND/Duke/UVA unless they beat JHU in the rematch in two weeks, gonna need both.

7 is great in his comfort zone, but that's not up top. 55 looked healthy, which could be a huge improvement. There's at least 1 spot on the 1st midfield that's been a zero productivity-wise.

The break down for MD started with 6:30 left in the 4th. SSDM transition turnover. Pole transition turnover. Offsides subbing. Hop tried to give the game away but MD uncharacteristically didn’t take advantage. Great game to watch as a viewer from home.

If Murphy can go, he needs to go in for Brennan. But as a whole the unit is just far, far too unproductive and the number of turnovers is crippling.
