Just found out my wife's best friend (from college, now long distance) caught it a month ago. She is one of the healthiest people I know, around 40, and is a Physical Therapist at a VA hospital. Her husband is a former Marine, now doing construction. She said it was the sickest 3 weeks in her life, mostly spent in bed. She could not walk and talk at the same time. Husband got it bad too but made it through. Their kids had mild fevers and were cranky, but luckily nothing worse.

She didn't tell us because she didn't want us to worry...

Yes, disgusting...it's a false way of presenting the data. What this really says that in only 6% of deaths could they not find (or did not note) some other dynamic in how the person died, lung failure, kidney failure, heart failure, etc.

2/3 of Americans are overweight, half of those obese.

47% of people have one or more risk factors contributing to heart disease. High blood pressure, cholesterol, smoking.

10% of Americans have diabetes, another 25% are pre-diabetic...on the cusp of diabetes.

and then there's age. Big risk factor.

Sure, people are eventually going to die. Typically from these factors. Ultimately, no one escapes.

So, we look at excess deaths versus normal, and that's running ahead of deaths noted as specifically related to Covid.

Which is now over 180k Americans.
With lots of us trying very hard to prevent spread, to get R below 1.
