This is a problem. I made a choice to invest more time in my kids when they were young. My motto was “the most important thing I can give my kids is my time and attention”. In 40 years in this country, real wages have not changed and the rich have gotten richer. But hey, unions are bad...just ask China.

"Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) offered rare Republican criticism of the Trump administration’s coronavirus response Friday, saying the federal government dismissed the virus’s threat and failed to protect Americans as infections spiraled out of control.

“Short term, I think it’s fair to say we really have not distinguished ourselves in a positive way by how we responded to the crisis when it was upon us,” Romney said in a video interview with the Sutherland Institute. “And the proof of the pudding of that is simply that we have 5 percent of the world’s population but 25 percent of the world’s deaths due to covid-19.”

“And there’s no way to spin that in a positive light,” Romney said.

In his Friday interview, Romney said the administration did not “ring all the alarm bells” early on in the pandemic. He faulted officials for failing to put the federal government in charge of distributing personal protective equipment, manufacturing essential supplies and setting guidelines for businesses.

“From the outset, there was a tendency on the part of the administration to dismiss covid-19 as a threat, not to consider how serious it could be come,” he said. “The health impact of covid-19 on our country and our response to it was really very, very disappointing.”

This was not the first time Romney has accused the administration of mismanaging the pandemic. In mid-May, he criticized the Trump administration’s early coronavirus testing rollout, saying the administration had “treaded water” during February and March and that its actions were “nothing to celebrate.”

Slipping where? You guys see no good anywhere, avoid any praise or optimism, and only focus on all things negative. Must suck to always see things in a negative light. I thought you all where lacrosse fans....since when did lacrosse or sports in general teach you to be so negative....that constant whining reminds me of the coach and players that always blame the refs when they lose, it is weak.

I have said on dozens of occasions I am not a trump fan, you clearly know this..otherwise you would not say "i am slipping". My point was Mitt, is like any other politician and to pile on and be a back seat driver is not leadership, it is division.

I'm not certain I need to even address this Democratic fevered dream/wish. It seems to fall flat on its face with basic understandings of Republicans.

In a state poll from June, 69% of “strong” Republicans disapprove of how Romney is handling his job.

As many have noted, it will be very interesting to see what happens to the Republican party if Trump loses.

My guess is that the party will split into a Trump wing and a non-Trump wing. I have no idea who will lead each wing, although I guess Trump could lead his wing for a while. I tend to think that the Trump wing will be rather short-lived.
