Love that the 6 on 6 wasn’t passed
Also love the flopping penalty and changing the ridiculous shooting space rule

shot clocks come with their own remote gizmos.
Do they take AA or AAA batteries?
yes.
Hard to find, it seems. Searched AA/AAA batteries for gizmos. Not much comes up.

Glad they didn't take away players but feels like game is about to slow down quite a bit with a lot more arbitrary calls, play stoppages and varied interpretation of what results in a woman-down green card. More goals given imbalance of woman up/down and then unfortunately more draws with more standing around placing balls in sticks.

Ref inconsistency is already an issue and now there will be even more calls that take players off field. Silver lining - perhaps this does improve player safety (marginally?) but feels like there's a real cost.

So much for the 2 hour game regularly airing on the real ESPN channel anytime soon.

Seems like there are 2 potential outcomes- games lasts 3 hours as players are thrown off constantly. Not a great result. Or, refs call a lot less fouls. Personally, adding a cumulative foul penalty leading to a green would probably have been a much smarter way of approaching whatever issues this is attempting to address.

team sale vendors, where schools typically buy from, don't hit the algo very easily.

Hey, ONW, looks to me as if carriebowler posted this for you, the lurker. It's over at the Water Cooler in the General Chatter thread. He/she probably didn't realize that you don't lurk over there much at all so I figured I'd help the two of you out to make the connection.
You're welcome.

Extra Super P Force - For Keep a long-lasting Erections
Post by carriebowler » Thu Jul 20, 2023 8:03 am

Extra Super P Force combines the effects of two medications—sildenafil citrate and dapoxetine—into a single pill. Both premature ejaculation (PE) and erectile dysfunction (ED) in men can be treated with dapoxetine. Blood flow to the penis is increased, and ejaculation is postponed, all of which contribute to Extra Super P Force's efficacy. By extending the time a man is able to get and keep an erection, sexual enjoyment is increased for both partners.

One tablet of Extra Super P Force is taken one to three hours before s*x. Daily use is not suggested. Headache, flushing, upset stomach, and dizziness are the most often reported adverse reactions to Extra Super P Force. Heart attack, stroke, and priapism (a painfully extended erection) are among the more significant adverse effects that may manifest.

Men who are also taking ED drugs like tadalafil (Cialis) or vardenafil (Levitra) should not take Extra Super P Force. Men with preexisting heart, liver, or kidney illnesses should also avoid taking this supplement. You need a prescription in order to buy Extra Super P Force. Only a doctor or other medical professional should administer it.

I think this one will generate a resounding and celebratory yes from you too.
Do you miss me a little bit?

I want to know if players are going to "card out" at a certain point with green cards? If that is the case this is going to be a disaster ... that seems to be unclear at the moment though. Similarly, did we not just change the rules like 5 years ago to speed up the game? We are going backwards not forwards with this change, smh

I do actually miss you, DMac. I remember when you and I were on the same side regarding a number of issues, among which were ridiculing the dimensions of the Weird Field, a.k.a. College Park; debunking the Win the Draw Win the Game parrots and, of course--Charlotte North a.k.a The Great One. And there were probably others.

I always read anything you write. I've been keeping up with your Athletes Unlimited posts. I wish I could get into it but my stance on that is the same as it was when I wrote about it on these boards last year and the year before probably. I am glad that you and many others enjoy watching, and I can tell from the occasional highlight the players are having a great time.

In any event I wish you well.

AU lacrosse is an acquired taste I suppose. While there are plenty of similarities to the college game it is also a completely different game. I thoroughly enjoy the skill level, IQ, and execution of these superb athletes. Not having a team to root for (or against) as in the college game as the teams are switched up weekly falls into that acquired taste for sure but I've come to actually like it (it's a must for this league). It's a bit on the rough side much to the distaste of many (particularly the purists) but I'm not really seeing it all that much different than the college game....minus the yellow cards for some of the play. I can watch Apuzzo's doggedness, Levy's stick skills, Simkins defensive prowess, Kent's motor, and on and on, all day. Just all are really good players and the speed on the field is cheetah-like. Crazy speed out there.
With no eight meter, shooting space, and the quality of pretty much all the D players, CN is nowhere near the same threat as she was at the college level. Interesting. No knock intended here, still an outstanding player and threat.....fires white hot lasers but has a much harder time getting her shot off in this league.
Love what AU is doing and these gals all seem to be loving it and having fun. Competitors, yes, but there are an awful lot of smiles, lot of friendliness and comradery. It's nice to see and fun to watch (for me).
Cheers

I think most folks like AU lacrosse based on a couple of polls I ran. The first one:

So--the AU season is almost upon us. Lots of great players will be suiting up and displaying their multitudinous talents. Will you watch them? (51 votes)

60.8% Yes! Can’t wait!
21.6% I might catch a game or two
17.6% Not interested

Then after a few games were played, the second one:

The AU Women's Pro Lacrosse games: have you been watching? What do you think? (102 votes)

40.2% Yes, great fun. Can't wait for the next game.
36.3% I've watched but...Meh
23.5% I haven't watched. Just can't get interested.

Yeah—I’ve seen some of the highlights. Incredible displays of skill with a lot of passion and fun. They’re really competing to win.

Interesting. Like they figured out how to defend her. I did come to think that there were times during her BC career that a pass out of a situation would have been the wiser play but North would continue to try/improvise/force, a lot of times resulting in a goal, but perhaps passing to a teammate would have been the better or seemlier play. I couldn’t help notice the contrast watching Scane last season. I guess it does make a difference if you have an Erin Coykendall as a teammate to pass to. Also, Izzy has a ride that reminds me of how Apuzzo would ride/redefend. Though Charlotte took draws. Both great players but I would pick Izzy over Charlotte if I had a first round draft pick and they were both available in a given setting.

Based off those thoughts, who's the best you've seen thus far in AU at creating (and finishing) their own shot on goal?

Good talking shop.

Mr. Donovan sends his regards 😉

It's pretty tough to pick out one who has stood head and shoulders above the rest in getting to the cage and scoring. Week one wasn't a display of excellence on the O end of the field, all these girls needed some playing time to shake off the rust and get back in the groove. Week two was much better...pretty darn good actually. Geiersbach has been her usual self in getting to the cage, she's tough to stop. I think more of the goals have come from getting a step on a defender going east to west (or west to east) and firing from the hip, no one is getting through the D going north to south too often. Too many good D players who can play a little rougher and do a little more stick checking. Odds are Izzy McMahon is going to get a step on you and she can fire heat, Gilbert too (crazy quick and deceptive release). Apuzzo will beat you like that too. Kent is sneaky and can slip in there. Need to see more before I can pick just one out. These gals know they have to move the ball, look for cutters, score more assisted goals.
Yes about CN but dare ye not say that when she was playing for BC.

Great scouting report on AU attackers.

True, true. I think that was a combination of being in the defending Charlotte North mode against her one detractor here, along with being a big fan. Watching Izzy Scane this past season helped put things into better perspective.

You're not mistaken, there is an AU thread and this is the New Rule Proposals (should be rules, no?) thread.
By the same token it's not at all unusual for a thread to get a little sidetracked and get off course now
and then. It's typically a short period and it always gets back on track as it will here. No harm done,
the floor is yours.

Mindy McCord out calling for an emergency meeting of the IWCLA on the disastrous new rules caused her 60 minute game to take 2:38 to play. Never tested out in fall ball. Hate to say we saw this coming but … we saw this coming.

Why did it take so long? Because the officials were always stopping to issue green cards and run over to the table to make sure the numbers were noted down correctly?

Funny, my daughter’s coach said it was going to be a disaster. Looks like USF will get the ball rolling.
