That preseason poll says as much about the PL as it does Navy.
Army, Loyola & BU, the only ranked teams, all have key returning 5th year players.
Even Lehigh was unranked & their Coach just bailed.
This will be the final season for the 2020 freshmen covid 5th year players.
Phipps was the OC for the 2 best teams of the Sowell era -- 2015 & '16

They had several key players who "turned back" & will get a 5th yr.

That's right -- I didn't realize there was a mechanism to do this at the service academies (similar to Ivy League players taking the semester off) -- but when I was looking last spring at how experienced the teams that made it to the quarterfinals were (very!), I realized Army has some key "turnbacks" who will essentially be 5th year seniors in 2024, including 3 out of their top 4 scorers (Burek, Morin, Johnson) from 2023.

I am not sold.... I think they screwed up moving Tolker off the lefty spot. Not to mention, Haley does not ride very well, at all. Go do a stat comparison of the last 2 freshman lefty attackman and you make the call. search 2018 and 2022. An attackman with a shooting percentage under .190 is rather poor.

Definitely not a walk in the park of an OOC schedule. Especially if The Mount, Towson, and Hofstra are improved.
