I could see this happening as well. I caught some grief for suggesting that Richmond may have been the best Virginia team last year (sorry Dukes and Hokies). They at least would have been competitive...

I think it will come down to strength of schedule for how high the Spiders can go, but low teens, reasonable. In top 10, possible...

Just looking at roster’s for the upcoming season and it looks like the George Mason goalie M. Semkiw transferred to St Joes. Could be interesting with them returning key players from last year.

Would like to St Joe’s this season, but looks like the Spiders are stuck playing the southern group of A10 schools twice (GW, ODU, Mason, VCU) Kind of a bummer they will not be playing UMass during the regular season, as they look to be pretty well stocked. Not sure what they are waiting on, but Richmond has not released their schedule yet.

SJU just took the Spiders out behind the woodshed and gave em a beating—— 19 - 8 final.

Kahoe has been building slowly and steadily since she arrived on Hawk Hill. This year she has the benefit of many 5th year players and a very good transfer goalie. St. Joe’s has lost a few close games this year ... and gradually gaining momentum. UMASS had always had their number, assuming these two meet in the final, it will be interesting to see if they can ride this way at an A 10 title.

On the other side, Richmond showed where they are this season, media polls, etc. be damned. After seeing uva dismantle the Spiders in February, I wondered what could have happened in this program? They have virtually the same line up as 2019, yet they look like a different team. Anyone? Anyone?

agree about st joe's - she's a great coach and has a veteran roster. I believe they only lost to Drexel by 1 early in the year and also beat Lehigh by a decent margin, and they are a pretty good team.

I am also really surprised how "average" Richmond has become over the past year and I believe they also have had a few highly touted recruits join in the last 2 years as well. They may not get an at large bid given this beat down and no real good wins that I see on their schedule.

UMASS has a nice team so will be watching the St. Joe's v Umass final..st joe's has to win to get to tourney and I believe umass would get an at large even with a loss.

WOW! Temple 9 UMass 4 at the half

10-5 now. Oh, BC's loving this. What's Temple going to have left on Sunday if they pull off this huge upset?

Umass missing 7 players due to covid, including draw person and leading attacker. Congrats to temple, but not a fair fight.

OH! I didn’t know that. That puts it in a much different light. Too bad. I know UMass would have liked to have another crack at BC.

Spiderlaxfan must change the name of the topic each year as this one started in 2018. Anyway, in hopes that he does so for the upcoming 2022 season, I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility that the St Joe's Hawks could challenge for the conference. Is that a reach? They brought in 6 transfers. Has anyone else brought in that many? But looking back on last season, they got handled pretty easily by UMass all 3 times they played. But they also lost some very close games. A double OT loss at Temple; an OT loss vs Drexel; a 1 goal loss to Hofstra; and a 2 goal loss vs Towson. They finished 6-2 in the conference. I wonder how many UMass graduated?
