Password protected now. I noticed that last year. After a short time from game conclusion, PW protection goes up. Frustrating!

I thought the Taft goalie was simply spectacular in this game and clearly the difference maker. Hats off to the young man! I would love to know the shot/save statistics if anyone has them.

The season is setting up for all kinds of intrigue as we turn the corner to the second half. It is gonna be a "buckle up" kind of ride down the home stretch.

Just noticed that Choate v IMG is on stream. Haven't watched any of it so no observations from me.

Final from Wallingford:

Choate 16
IMG Academy 9

I caught the final quarter and Choate had already created a big lead. Choate appeared to be the much more athletic team, again from what I just saw in the 4th quarter. Big win for the Wild Boars program and they should certainly receive some more national attention (i.e., being ranked in one of the national polls).

See you in Watertown tomorrow.....

Be worthy....

I caught about a quarter of Choate-IMG as well. I was looking at the Choate roster and using Twitter to see where kids have committed. Not surprising, but there were a good number of football guys mixed in with the lacrosse commits out there making plays for the Wild Boars. Definitely a very athletic team with some big dudes.

Choate's athleticism and interest in deploying that athleticism was a major factor in their victory over DA in terms of success on 50/50 and scrum ground balls. The other thing I noticed was DA's offensive sets utilizing a preponderance of "looking for 1v1 opportunities first" look - instead of a "move that rock while moving them bodies". Maybe others who were at the game or viewed the stream saw it differently?

Intriguing tilt for sure. Taft mainlined some big win highs with the Brunswick victory, and DA is looking for an identity and a notable league win. Do they still play on that concrete patch up on the plateau (rivaled nicely by our era concrete patch at DA wedged between the tennis courts and a lower truck access) these days, or on a fancy carpeted "3rdPersonPlural Field" with sky boxes?

I'll root for the boys in green, and for an exciting West I caliber game.

Predicting the play of high schoolers is always a lesson in humility but if Taft plays up to their potential, this could be a very long afternoon for DA

Taft is very deep, experienced and has players who were banged up earlier in the season available to play. DA is young and still integrating new players in key roles. Should be the Rhinos day.

The field is an all new ground-up-tire contraption. You'll see it 1:05 in this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbzzGR6j6lM)

In my day (late '70's) the Varsity lacrosse played on the field behind CPT Hall. Halfway between the Headmasters house and his office. This made sense, now that I think about it, because LRO was also the Head Lax coach.

Be Worthy, has Taft beat the Green since...well...since we met back in the laxpower times? I don't think so. That's almost 20 years.....

I thought Taft snuck in a W or two in the last 15 years? And looking at the Taft map I could have sworn we played by the hockey rink - JV fields now. That would have been Spring of '79 and '81.

Taft has beaten DA twice I believe in last 20 or so years…

2014 8-7 at DA - it was DAs first loss on the potato patch in 15 years

2015 9-8 in OT — winner scored by Ross Pridemore at home in Watertown … where the heck did he end up?!

Gawd, you remember back then? But Ross Pridemore became a Greyhound, apparently (https://loyolagreyhounds.com/sports/men ... emore/8164) "Attended The Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut, in 2015… Became the first freshman to earn New England West All-League First Team honors in over 20 years while at Taft after scoring 23 goals to go with 23 assists… Started as a running back and defensive back for Taft and was second on the team in touchdowns…"

Now he's a Business Development Manager at ATLANTA RUBBER & HYDRAULICS, INC. (https://www.linkedin.com/in/ross-pridemore-73a075261/)

The fields between the Hockey rink (it's now hockey rinks...) and the football field were indeed crappy and used for JV field teams until I got a diploma in '78. I guess everything went to spit after my class left.

But a 10%-win rate does not look good for the Rhinos. Help me cheer them on today!!!!

3 minutes to Faceoff. Taft seems to be planning on starting Moynihan, Page, and Wick at attack. All seniors, I think....

Deerfield is consistently really really good. Taft is either brilliant or error-prone.

Deerfields 2 goals are weird. The first one came on the initial FO before Taft had buckled up their chinstraps and I'd mixed a martini. The 2nd was saved fair and square by friedman but it bounced off his buttocks when he lost the easy rebound.

More later....

End of the 3rd. Both teams have resigned themselves to a Taft victory and are playing for the highlight reels now.

I am a ref - quite seriously a ref - and I can't fathom what this crew is seeing. Or how they're calling it. However it ends, I will not feel good about it.

Salisbury v L'Ville
https://vimeo.com/SALISBURYSCHOOL

On the off chance someone from Salisbury media sees this, please stop using the ground camera. it's virtually impossible to follow the game. That said I genuinely appreciate the effort they and all the schools make for people to follow. Just.... stick the upper camera, please.
