Huber played for a pretty bad team but still scored 40 goals. Was productive against the better teams on the schedule. Small at 5ft 8in. He’s a lefty and his shots superficially resemble Degnon’s.

Importantly, Huber looks comfortable working inside and can operate in close quarters.

Any reason why Johns Hopkins shouldn’t be going after this guy?

Is there a roster cap at Hopkins? That’s one reason not to go after a guy at a third tier program who you don’t know will be able to compete.

Huber scored 2 goals against Rutgers, 3 goals against Villanova, 1 goal/1 assist against Denver, and 3 goals against Georgetown.

What makes you think he can’t compete against top tier teams?

Did you look to see when the production occurred?

Edit I just quickly checked.

Rutgers - 1st goal 5min into the 3rd to get to 3-9, second goal was with 7 seconds left to close the gap to 23-6.

Villanova - Better w 2 first quarter goals. 3rd goal came w 2:50 left to tighten the contest up to 20-8

Denver - Narrowed it to 12-2 6 min into the 3rd with his goal. (Assist in 1st)

GTown - 2 in first half, late in Q1 to get off the bagel at 6-1, second early in Q2 to make it 7-2 (still a game sort of). 3rd goal end of 3rd to get to 19-4.

Not picking on him but when you’re getting blasted by a season average that’s double digits the timing of goals does come in different circumstances.

Maybe he can play but I’m guessing many of those goals were of little to no consequence to the opponents.

Forty goals is a lot of “garbage goals”.

If anything, scoring goals when your team is consistently getting shellacked is pretty impressive. How many goals would he have had if he were surrounded by more skilled and talented teammates feeding him passes?

Huber was an IL Top 40 attack recruit coming out of St. Anthony’s. He didn’t come out of nowhere to be productive at St. John’s. He should be an impact player for whomever picks him up for his 5th year.

Don’t take anything I’m going to say as fact but I’ve heard Conlin of HC might be headed to ND.

His GB and CT numbers are quite good. Against decent competition too:

6 and 4 vs. Navy
