It was so nice that the Florida game was played outside in the NCAA's last year.
Right, this sounds like a person who is recognizing why the game was played outside.
Your mission was to come on and be an a*hole today. Mission accomplished.
My statement was that it was nice that the game was played outside. It wasn't a sarcastic comment about the dome being so nice that they chose to play it outside. FFS

You guys really have reading comprehension issues.

Does anyone on this board not from upstate NY or who didn't have a daughter play at Syracuse think the dome is a good venue for women's lacrosse? If I'm the only one who thinks it sucks so be it, but I know a TON of people who feel the same.

I'm not from Central NY and my kid never played for or at Syracuse. I love watching games in the Dome. It certainly doesn't "suck." It is a different environment from a game played outdoors. I went to graduate school in Syracuse, so perhaps I'm a little biased. But it snowed 36 days in a row my first year of law school there, so going indoors to watch the games was kind of a joy. On balance, I generally prefer being outdoors to being indoors, and really enjoy watching lacrosse on a 55 or 60 degree Spring day. But I've spent enough times in 40 degrees in the rain to know the Dome and cold one hardly "sucks."

Who wants to go hang out in a POS (just laughable) and watch a little wlax when you can make the short trip to Schoellkopf and watch the ladies in Red play in light snow and twelve degree temps. Enjoy.
You don't like the place, I get it, but you're way off base and spreading garbage with you POS nonsense.
Let me see if I've got it right. The place is too big, so rather than playing in there they should go out and
play in the elements because it feels more cozy to you. Have I got it?
Absolutely. Lacrosse is a sport meant to be played outside in the elements. I am fine with having some early season games inside as NW does.
I was a couple of decades long hard core Hobart fan before moving to Syracuse, have watched plenty of games in the rain, snow, and chilly (putting it mildly) temps at the Boz. Many of the same experiences at Schoellkopf too. I used to knock the Dome too because of the indoor aspect but I never called it a POS. You're out of line with that, it's hardly a POS.

Plenty of programs move games indoors when needed but there's no reason to have a full time indoor stadium for lacrosse.
The Dome is not a full time indoor stadium for lacrosse, it's an indoor stadium where football, basketball and both m and w lacrosse is played. I guess the wlaxers just take advantage of it and like to play their games there. Whole lot of people like the place and I believe there are a lot of teams that look forward to come and play in the Dome, awful lot of history there. Can't please all the people all the time and you are evidence of that.

And other than selling beer there what exactly do you think makes the dome a nice facility?
I don't care if they sell beer there or not, probably nice for those who would like to have a beer or two while watching the game though. Nice field, perfect playing conditions, not a bad seat in the house. There's a nice history on the walls too...oh, and I like the eleven NC Champs (mlax) banners hanging from the rafters too.
You keep referencing Men's Lacrosse. This is the women's lacrosse board. There is nothing enticing about going to watch a women's lacrosse game inside the dome. Nothing at all. The OP acted like the dome was the #1 facility in the ACC for women's lacrosse. I find that opinion laughable. Anyone that says that quite simply hasn't been to a game at any of the other ACC facilities.

IMO
Actually I have been to every one. You’re quite arrogant
I had a daughter play in the dome for four years. So IMO the dome is a great place to watch a game. IMO
And IMO a field on the river with a view of the city and bridges is quite nice. IMO
Didn't say it wasn't nice. Just said that a field immediately surrounded by chain link fence in downtown Pittsburgh isn't nicer than UNC, UVA, Duke or ND's stadiums. It is a nice view. And I think PNC is a great park. Nothing against Pittsburgh or the stadium.

And it shouldn't come as a surprise that most people think the dome is a terrible facility for women's lacrosse unless they are from upstate NY or had a daughter play there. It was so nice that the Florida game was played outside in the NCAA's last year.

IMO
Every year when the NCAA tournament opens up Cuse plays outside ( I believe they have gradation that weekend ) try to remember when Cuse played Stony Brook a few years back , yep they played on the soccer field.

I had my first and only experience last year. The newly renovated Dome is really nice. It is a novelty to play there, but it was "perfect". No complaining about the sun in the goalies eyes....I enjoyed the games (NCAA) although I didn't like the last result  . Anyway, the only complaint was the Covid nazzis(sp) that made us sit 6 seats/rows apart, but we were only allowed in one area in that whole freaking stadium....We had to show proof of vaccination or test...I don't know. Some lawyer (sorry guys) thought they needed to limit liability, even though it was on the ticket that they took no responsibility. I digress...the dome was fun and they didnt have beer. ;-(

Two games, same day, one in the Dome, one not. Think the first one
was v Wagner in the Dome, second one v Canisius.

It's wise and nice to have a Dome to play in in CNY. Have frozen my
asz off as many times as anyone here watching (and playing) lacrosse
outside in CNY, it aint Baltimore or Chapel Hill. There are plenty enough
days in Feb, March, and April that justify playing in the Dome and makes
it a better experience for both fans and players. Say all you want but when
you're in there either playing or watching when there's a layer of ice on the
branches and a wind chill of 12 degrees, aint nobody sayin the place is a POS
on that day.

No argument here that it makes sense to have an indoor option. NW does. Michigan does. Lots of examples. Just don't like that the main facility for lacrosse is indoors. It's not the way the game was meant to be played. They keep moving the start of the spring season earlier and earlier and hence there is a need for indoor options. But it's crazy to have an April/May lacrosse game played indoors. That's my issue. IMO

The game wasn't meant to be played with Tupperware sticks or on artificial surfaces either. Football wasn't meant to be played indoors either but times have changed and we've built stadiums to better accommodate players and fans. In Syracuse NY it makes perfect sense to have an indoor facility as your venue for playing lacrosse (both practice and games) despite the Creator intending the game to be played outdoors. The last year I played lacrosse in NY was in '77 and it literally drove me out of the state and I moved to Virginia. Yes, it can be nice in April and May (that's not nice like in Charlottesville though), but believe me it can still be pretty wintery then too.
This never ended, was still very winter like through May and while the report is about Western NY it was hardly restricted to there. You might sacrifice being outside on some nice days for a game but the odds are great that there will be more days that you're glad to be playing and watching inside rather than outside. Yes, it makes perfect sense to have an indoor facility for playing here in the Cuse. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blizzard_of_1977

Although I've been to a few local fields for lacrosse, I haven't been to any of the fields or facilities mentioned. I did see the Stones in the Dome in the early 80's. I hated the facility for a concert but I love it for watching a lacrosse broadcast. No one puts on a local women's lacrosse broadcast like the stellar production crew at Syracuse. The field mics, multiple camera angles and replays to go along with great camerawork are excellent. They could use more consistent help in the revolving play-by-play/color commentator booth but that's a minor concern. I might have passed over that first women's lacrosse game on espn3 years ago if it hadn't been the Syracuse production crew beaming the game from the Dome. I doubt I would like attending a game there however. Too cavernous big and too far from the field.

This is my favorite place to see a game--the friendly confines of the Boston College Lacrosse field at Newton. One is right on top of the action and walking from the parking lot to one's seat takes all of 3 minutes.

Outdoor games like this are a thing of the past for programs with enough money to build fieldhouses. There's something surreal about the atmosphere at this game. All white with frigid frozen Lake Michigan in the background.

This is exactly what the visitors locker/changing room looks like, except the doors are probably in a different place.

Yes for a school with that much $$ an upgrade is desperately needed. It’s 2021 not 1995.

1995? Hell, we did better than that in HS in 1968 when we just used the girl's locker room for visiting teams.
When playing Penn Yan I once left a note on the locker I was using in the girl's locker room that just said,
for further information contact #29. Damn if she didn't somehow look me up and got my address and sent me
a little note, picture included (those little girls are worse than the boys, ya know). Cute little red head too.
Never amounted to anything, just talked with her on the phone a couple of times but still kind of fun nonetheless.

Actually not so much but I do find red hair on women to be very attractive (real red hair). My mom was a red head, not like Maddy red, much lighter. One of my boys is a red head (light like my mom's) one of them blond (like his father), both have red beards (the blond has a full red beard...looks good too...the red head not). One has brown hair.
Now if you meant lifelong as in my being an a*hole like that, then pretty much yes. :D
