Anyone able to describe "what happened"? Rather lengthy delay on live stats (so long, actually thought was a weather delay). Hope all players are OK.
Goalie made a save and outlet to middie in front of the crease
Middie passes to another middie cutting back from half field
Middie receives pass and turns to advance up field takes about 3 step and is hammered by UNC player and lands flat on his back

What offensive player from UNC made an arguable hit? I do not have the ACC Network and have not seen any replays available on YouTube yet.

I have not watched many full game replays for UNC as either the camera work is poor on the YouTube replay or the game was out of hand. Regardless, I should start watching more as I could answer my own questions with more film work. Regardless, here are some questions/observations:

*What a box score for #20 Matt Wright (Freshman): one goal, one assist and five GBs! Is he UNC's primary LSM on face off wings and on the first defensive sequence? Besides what is in his bio, was he a close-D starter on Hill Academy's first team, or was he mostly LSM in high school?

*Is #23 Parker Alexander (Junior, played in 15 games last year) a SSDM or in the offensive rotation?

*Similar to Denver in some years, does UNC sometimes rotate in up to five players on offense or at the start of some quarters? Or do Kelly, Tillman and Trippi come in as a midfield unit? Does that mean Harry and Henry Schertzinger are a third midfield rotation? How does it work!?

Great start UNC! I hope the defense will make a statement against Maryland and ACC teams in the next month.

To me, it seems the only dangerous play in the incident was when the Bryant player threw a textbook "buddy pass" to his teammate. Regardless, I hope he will be OK. I have a lot of respect for Bryant and Coach Pressler. Good luck to them going forward.

"Anyone able to describe "what happened"? Rather lengthy delay on live stats (so long, actually thought was a weather delay). Hope all players are OK." Bryant middie was breaking out for clearing pass from goalie UNC player hit him high right as he turned up field! Lacrosse is a contact sport but hitting someone like that s completely uncalled for! ts like sucker punching someone in a bar fight!! The Bryant player is n the hospital Everyone should say a prayer for him! UNC coaches and that player should be ashamed of how they conducted themselves!! n other sports when an egregious play happens the team that committed it intentionally turns the ball over show good sportsmanship! UNC has no class!!

Thankfully he is ok. I have watched the hit multiple times and it was a perfectly legal hit. And I can't say I agree that it was a cheap shot either.

Please feel free to rewatch the replay on ESPN(around the 1:34 mark), Anderson had a solid hit on someone who had taken a pass a few steps prior and was running up field. The hit did not look malicious, the force of the hit actually knocked Anderson back as well, and he did not drive through the opposing player. He hit him square in the chest. If the Bryant player did not get injured the play would have continued as normal.

Again, very thankful that he will be ok. Nobody wants to see anyone hurt. It was unfortunate that Bryant lost their face off specialist as well due to injury.

I don't know. It has progressively gotten worse over the past few games. It definitely needs to step up a few knotches, quickly.

Need Bob to break out of his slump. The 2019 version. Unfortunately, Pezzula is not the answer. The freshman is up next if someone falters against G'town. It will be interesting to see if they are the best team that UNC has faced yet. Denver is the best by far so far. Hop is having a down year.

Don't think any of this will matter in another week or two. Terrible for the seniors and their families if/when the season is canceled. I know I was not ready for my son's senior year to end during normal times. I can't imagine what this is going to be like for them.

It wasn't the worst foul ever, but it was one of those "defenseless player" kind of hits that was also high (neck height) that should have be called a foul the way referees have been taught to do on that scenario where someone is scooping or catching the ball with their head down or turned and gets blown up. It was a completely avoidable dangerous play by the UNC player there that resulted in a player getting a concussion. There's no way anyone should be defending that type of hit.

The Bryant game replay is on YouTube and in no trustworthy way can anyone say it was a dirty hit by 21 Anderson on the Bryant player, in my view. Some previous posters should go back to the Hopkins crying board.

I don't even think it was a buddy pass. It's just a bad luck for the Bryant guy. He was cutting for the pass, received it, then turned to accelerate up field and the UNC guy was there.

UNC was stacked this year with a only a couple issues, such as a lack of long pole depth, that could likely be addressed with some solid incoming talent (as well as Evan Egan presumably returning from injury,) in 2021.

I think that this was a special squad in 2020 which, in my opinion, had a legitimate shot at winning it all. Like everybody else, I'm very disappointed how everything ended, but this group had to stop right before the real meat of the schedule could be played. There was plenty of locker room material that had come from a lot of naysayers regarding just how good this team really was, and they didn't get the opportunity to prove those guys wrong.

If many of the seniors that were major contributors return for a 5th year, I think the things that made the 2020 team special could carry over into 2021.

Funny, I have heard that D. Kelly is not going to UNC. Is this just a rumor? I was surprised to hear this if it is true.

The Heels will be just fine. Coaching staff is excellent and most importantly, they have their priorities right. GO HEELS!

Impressed how quickly Gray assimilated into offense. Not that easy when you are use to having ball in your stick the majority of time. Good team. Guess 21 season depends on NCAA, losing Anderson, Cook and Perry be alot

Combine that group wih this years 17 Freshman, includes two RS, and you have 27 players with eligibility through 2024. Considering most Senior Classes are in the 8-12 range some tough decisions will have to be made.

Pretty sure he signed his NLI to play lax at UNC so if he ends up going somewhere else it wont be to play lacrosse.
