Believe those are post marked ballots delivered after Election Day.
Actually only a tiny fraction of those were thrown out:
The Trump campaign on Thursday won a case that attempted to disqualify a small number of mail-in ballots for first-time Pennsylvania voters who were unable to confirm their identification by Nov. 9.
https://www.post-gazette.com/news/crime ... 2011120132
Which is is exactly how it's supposed to work, hardly a 'win'.
In fact, it just demonstrates that ballots that don't have confirmed identification get identified as such and can't be counted unless the voter cures the ID issue. They have a chance to do so, but if not, their vote doesn't get included.

surprise, surprise...the system works.

From Betsy Klein (CNN) on Twitter:
White House trade adviser Peter Navarro on Fox Business: "We are moving forward here at the White House under the assumption that there will be a second Trump term... We think he won that election, and any speculation about what Joe Biden might do I think is moot at this point."
As someone commented, "totally bonkers."

But, hey, we shouldn't be concerned with authoritarianism...can't happen here...

Actually, I'm pretty optimistic at the moment, but man, these guys are going down doing as much damage as they can muster.

Your words, not mine.

I don't think that...and i'm trying to get to the bottom of what these results actually show.

What policies do YOU think these 70 million voters had in mind when they pulled the lever for DJT?

..
That is THE question...some voted for Trump, in no particular order, because

1. Abortion
2. Guns
3. "less government" in their lives"
4. lower taxes
5. Nationalism
6. fiscal conservatism
7. Not Biden
8. they actually love Trump
9. Judges
10. prejudice against women and people of color.
The list is similar for those who pulled the lever for Joe:

In no particular order, because: why I voted for Biden

1. Abortion - not my body....
2. Guns - I want to keep mine
3. "People need to be saved from themselves" by Gov't. people need to take personal responsibliltiy, we are America, we shouldn't have the level of un and under insured/homeless/etc
4. "I want a cut of that guy's pie." a billionaire's kid shouldn't be able to collect dividends and interest and pay less tax than someone actually working.
5. Desire to reshape America- Dislike America's history. America's history isn't perfect....racism and bigotry against all those not WASPS is woven through the fabric of history.
6. Fiscal liberalism that is a joke.
7. Not Trump #ABT
8. They actually love Kamala No love for her, but not because she is a women or she is black.
9. Judges Only those qualified
10. Identify with a minority identity cause. this happens when you are a minority....as a white man,, I am at the top of the heap.
11. NOT Trump! Even Biden is better than Trump

“Stolen Election” is the New “Birtherism”
“Scary Philadelphia voted illegally!” “Obama was born in Africa!” The Republican goal is the same: delegitimize the president and obstruct everything.

https://washingtonmonthly.com/2020/11/1 ... irtherism/

Donald Trump’s reaction to the election results has been to hunker down in the White House. He hasn’t stood before a microphone since his disastrous remarks on Thursday from the White House Briefing Room. Instead, he tweets about voter “fraud.” As a fact-check, the New York Times contacted election officials in every state. None of them reported any major voting issues.

Nevertheless, most Republicans have encouraged the president to continue his hapless legal battle. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said that Trump is “100 percent within his right” to pursue recounts and litigation. Republican Senators eyeing the presidency in 2024 have fueled Trump’s fantasies, including Ted Cruz, Tom Cotton, Josh Hawley, Marco Rubio, and Lindsey Graham. Once again, the Republican Party is standing behind this president and defending the indefensible.

According to a poll conducted by Politico’s Morning Consult, the message Trump and Republicans are sending is having an impact on their base of support. Before the news on Saturday that Biden had won the election, 35 percent of Republican voters didn’t trust that the 2020 election was free and fair. After the announcement, the number jumped to 70 percent. That is dangerous.

But when it comes to proving their case in the courts, Trump and the GOP are failing miserably. So what’s the end-game?

You might remember that it wasn’t until Barack Obama became the 44th president that the whole “birther” conspiracy theory really took off. While it had been rumbling around in the dark corners of the internet prior to the 2008 election, the notion that the first African American president wasn’t qualified for the office became a right-wing rallying cry soon after he won. Republicans exploited the racism fanned by those claims to delegitimize Obama’s presidency and justify their obstruction of anything he tried to do.

Last May, McConnell made it clear that, if a Democrat were elected president, he would once again employ the strategy of total obstruction. But Joe Biden is an old white guy, so Republicans need a new twist on racism to make it work this time.

With a focus on cities with high concentrations of people of color—like Detroit and Philadelphia—they are inflaming the GOP base with questions about the legitimacy of Biden’s presidency by claiming that it was “those people” who stole the election. That will be their rationale for total obstruction. During an interview on Fox News, Newt Gingrich actually laid out the plan.

Yup. Another rallying cry for the republican liars.
It has been proven a hundred times that the surest way to the heart of any man, black or white, honest or dishonest, is through justice and fairness.

How about this: if you believe what this guy is selling, this means we can NEVER add new programs of benefits. "Because" it screws the previous generation that didn't get them.

So my great grandparents didn't get SS or Medicare. This guy thinks that that makes them Chumps. They also didn't have access to the SUNY system of schools in NY State----so they couldn't afford taxpayer funded college. That mean they're chumps, too?

The problem here, as usual, is that no one is around to challenge their *hit logic. So they sit in their echo chamber, and get more angry.

Another simple question for angry man is: did your daughter go to public school? Then tell me why your childless friends had to help pay for that? Are they chumps, too?

We're rewarding and encouraging ignorance and selfishness. Stop doing that. This man didn't bother to understand that he fleeced his fellow childless friends, and got a public ed for his daughter. And is he thankful? Nope. Instead? He demands to know why he didn't get a bennie "someone else" got.

You wanna go every man for himself? Great. When do we start? Never, of course, because the angry man would have lost his *hit if you told him "hey, sorry mate, all public schools are closed this year, you have to come up with tuition for private school for your daughter".
If they closed the public schools a Fan they could probably save a chitload full of money. BTW, did you send your kids to public school?
My kids and my tax money both went to Penfield HS. Whatever $$$$ money I had left went to send my kids to every freaking lacrosse camp that came around. I am tapping your own personal knowledge here, you remember how much $$$$$$$$$ it costs if your kid lives between the pipes? His helmet alone for a keeper was over 200 dollars. i don't freaking remember how many goalie heads i bought for him not to include stringing kits and gloves and pads... you already know the drill. i am powerless to influence what the people that run the CSDR do. Tonight, the major networks called Arizona for Joe Biden. This means Arizona has voted for a Democrat for president for the first time since 1996, when Ross Perot’s bid for the presidency siphoned off votes from Republican candidate Bob Dole and let Democratic candidate Bill Clinton clinch the state. Before that, the last time Arizona backed a Democrat was in 1948, when it went for Harry Truman.
Since the numbers in Biden’s column now make up an insurmountable margin for Trump to overcome, the Trump campaign is now saying that the computers in certain states switched votes from him to Biden. This has been thoroughly debunked. This afternoon, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency in the Department of Homeland Security circulated a statement by the Elections Infrastructure Government Coordinating Council, a group of federal, state, and local officials, declaring that the 2020 election was “the most secure in American history” and that “there is no evidence” of tampering with any voting systems.
Perhaps more to the point, Trump has been telling people that he will announce a run for the 2024 presidency as soon as the vote is certified for Biden. This would keep money flowing into his pockets, as well as keeping him in the news. Sources have told Maggie Haberman at the New York Times that the president has no grand strategy other than to keep his supporters energized to follow him into whatever he does next, including, perhaps, launching a competitor to the Fox News Channel.
Meanwhile, the president is holed up in the White House, his public schedule empty, tweeting about how he has won an election that everyone knows he lost.
One of the things he is ignoring is the devastating spread of coronavirus through this country. Today more than 153,000 new cases were reported, with 66,000 people hospitalized. More than 10.4 million Americans have been infected with the coronavirus, and more than 242,000 have died.
While the White House election night watch party has turned into a superspreader event, today ensnaring former 2016 Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, most infections are now caused not by large public events but by small gatherings at home: dinner parties, carpools, playdates. These indoor events create “perfect conditions for a virus that can spread among people who are crowded into a poorly ventilated space,” write the doctors and public health officials at the PolicyLab of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Cases are not only on the rise, but also more severe. Experts remind us that we should avoid spending more than 15 minutes within six feet of anyone outside our own household in any 24-hour period, and they beg people to stay home for the holidays this year.
President-Elect Joe Biden has been out of the news, working. His new chief of staff, Ronald Klain, told reporters that he has been speaking privately to Republicans, although he has not talked to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. While Republicans appear to want to keep up the public narrative that the results of the election are unclear, they are beginning to demand that Biden get access to the intelligence reports Trump is keeping from him. Shutting the president-elect out of intelligence reports hampers our national security not only with regard to foreign affairs, but also with regard to the coronavirus, leaving Biden out of the planning to roll out a vaccine, for example.
Among the phone calls Biden has had with world leaders was one today with Pope Francis. According to the call readout, the pope offered Biden blessings and congratulations; Biden thanked the pope for promoting the common bonds of humanity and said he hoped to work together on issues that touched on their shared belief “in the dignity and equality of all humankind.” He singled out “caring for the marginalized and the poor, addressing the crisis of climate change, and welcoming and integrating immigrants and refugees into our communities"—all areas in which the pope has called on global leaders to take action, and on which the Biden administration's policies are expected to differ from its predecessor's. Biden will be America’s second Catholic president. (John F. Kennedy, elected in 1960, was the first.)
Biden has announced policy teams to help with the transition. They are made up largely of volunteers who will review the different government agencies and make policy recommendations. The Biden-Harris team notes that the transition will prioritize “diversity of ideology and background; talent to address society’s most complex challenges; integrity and the highest ethical standards to serve the American people and not special interests; and transparency to garner trust at every stage.” The names on the transition teams are impressive ones. Stanford Law School Professor Pamela Karlan, who testified before the House Judiciary Committee during the impeachment hearings will be part of the team that reviews the Department of Justice for the transition.
Lara Seligman at Politico reported today that Biden has been reaching out to former Pentagon officials who retired or were fired in the past four years to talk about the transition and whether or not they might want to go back into the Defense Department. The Biden team is talking to former officials because the current ones are Trump loyalists and team members don’t think they will be particularly cooperative or, for that matter, very knowledgeable. Seligman says that Biden wants to create a bipartisan leadership team at the Defense Department. In a notable change from the past four years, Biden’s agency review team for the Pentagon is led by female defense policy experts.
Biden tweeted just once today, after six American National Guardsmen, along with a Czech and a French team member, died in a helicopter crash in Egypt during a peacekeeping mission. One American was wounded. While the current president apparently ignored the loss, using Twitter to spread false rumors about the election and to attack the Fox News Channel, Biden tweeted: “I extend my deep condolences to the loved ones of the peacekeepers, including 6 American service members, who died on Tiran Island, and wish a speedy recovery to the surviving American. I join all Americans in honoring their sacrifice, as I keep their loved ones in my prayers.”
Did Heather Cox come out of some porn site you frequent? :D

Heather Cox Richardson is an American historian and Professor of History at Boston College, where she teaches courses on the American Civil War, the Reconstruction Era, the American West, and the Plains Indians. She previously taught at MIT and the University of Massachusetts. Richardson has authored six books.

City School District of Rochester needs to turn it around TODAY. The latest figures coming out say that they are 200 million dollars over budget. They do not have a clue what needs to be done to fix it. The only option they have is to go to King Andy and beg for money that he does not have to give them. This is the sort of malfeasance that someone should go to jail over. The only response from the CSDR is ....ooooooooooooooooopsies.🤦‍♀️

They do not have a clue what needs to be done to fix it. The only option they have is to go to King Andy and beg for money that he does not have to give them. This is the sort of malfeasance that someone should go to jail over. The only response from the CSDR is ....ooooooooooooooooopsies.🤦‍♀️
It is a bad district from what I have read. Syracuse and Buffalo don’t have the same problems. B.O.E is a big problem. I was on the board of a public education fund in an awful school district and a big obstacle to improvement was the local B.O.E. Rochester has a ton of poverty and homelessness represented in some of its schools. I would bet you $100k that when Rochester was thriving economically, the crime was lower and school performance was better. Just a guess.

EITC & SNAP was available to everyone who qualified.

EITC or SNAP to student debt forgivess is not a valid comparison.
So double down, and pretend like you don't get my point? Nice try.

I"m sick of this selfish attitude. The people in your party get more and more "i got mine, f everyone else" with each passing day they live in the FoxNation echo chamber.

Here in my Upstate NY FLP state of Nirvana our city school district is spending close to 20 grand per student and can't get kids to read above a 4th grade level. We won't get in to the abysmal math scores. You know where 2+2 = 47 and the student gets a gold star on the forehead for a great effort. When it comes to reading d...o...g... spells cat. Good job student, you were sooooo close to getting it right. Next year when your a senior in HS they will give you the remedial assistance in spelling you might need. No problem there scooter, your well on the way to going to college. Those tablets you will use in college all have spell check on them...
Ok, so go without.
Stop whining, go without.

or...work to make them better...

A bunch of us parents did donate a bunch of lax gear to help establish lax teams in the CSDR. The interest just was not there. You can work all you want, but when the people in charge don't really want your help... then what do you do?
My school district may have been worse than Rochester. ;) Anyway, this place turned it around in Mass.

The City of Rochester always revolved around how Kodak was doing for as long as i can remember. Before i went to a Catholic HS i spent most of my years in the public schools and they were very good. Maybe there is a correlation and maybe not, I don't know. When Kodak hit the skids and went bankrupt that seems to correspond with the drastic downturn in the CSDR. They have sunk a ton of money into building new schools and improving the older ones. The ROI just has not been there. The poverty factor is huge, but the infrastructure IMO is pretty good. I have no idea why they are having the problems they are having. Poor management and leadership are a big part of the problem. It has to go deeper than that.

I was last in Kodak in the mid 1990’s on a pitch. Lots have changed since then. I don’t know of too many places thriving economically but the school system is in taters. I have seen a strong correlation between a collapsing economic base and education. Mostly in tier 2 type cities that lost its manufacturing base. First bust the unions, then ship the jobs oversees, then replace those $30.00 an hour jobs in 1980 with $14.00 and hour in 2020.

Kodak Park is an enormous stretch of property. They actually just announced yesterday that Amazon is going to be building some huge warehouses on some of the vacant land at KP. There have been a bunch of companies that have established themselves at some of the many, and I mean many empty buildings at Kodak Park. Most folks have no idea what a giant company Kodak was in Rochester. There is nobody living in the city that I know of that did not have a family member that use to work there. It is a sad shell of what it use to be. i drive by the spot near Lake Ave where old George Eastman is buried. I'm sure glad he never witnessed what happened to the empire he built.

The GOP has a Kodak-like challenge on its hands.

Its core base/product needs to be replaced. But it still gets a lot of pass-able results from its current, but declining, base/product. And kissing off that base, like Kodak moving on from film, paper and chemicals, would just cost sooooo many voters/revenue that it is difficult to let go.

So it is stuck, like Kodak, in a slow motion catastrophe. The water isn't boiling the frog -- yet.

Perhaps., like Kodak, they could sidle up to the Feds for a few billion in aid to change industries?

Or like, Ferrania (former subsidiary of 3M) they could just reinvent themselves in the film market without the Feds. Of course, they'd have to THINK about it first.

... just not much of a market for buggy whips any more. Film companies could have made the transition, Fuji did. Kodak was stupid and greedy. Executives just wanted to ride it down because their compensation packages made that the smart play for them personally.
