There is a lacrosse podcaster that thinks his father is the actor John Stamos.

His father is John Stamos but not that John Stamos. He is head coach at the West Potomac High School varsity lacrosse team in Mount Vernon, VA. George's older brother AJ just graduated from VMI after starting at midfield for several years. His father administered his oath. AJ and George played football as well in high school and George was 1st Team All State All Purpose player (Division 6, the largest high schools) after playing QB, receiver, running back & holding for placekicks and excelling at each position. He is a true leader.

I know just find it funny that this podcaster thinks he the son of the actor

Future All-American. What he did at West Potomac as a long pole on the offensive end is just crazy. Phenomenal athlete. All-conference in a good football conference as a receiver, correct? Red-shirting him was so smart. After a year in the strength and conditioning program, he came back looking like a D1 running back. If I'm not mistaken, as well, he's also a great engineering student.

He and Kolar back as shorties next year is a good place to start. Geordy Holmes will probably finally break through, and he'll be a good asset in the clear next year, too. Terps still need 1 or 2 more shorties.

My understanding is that Wicks will be back

That's great. But coming off an ACL team to play right away is a lot to ask. If he can do his GBs on the face-off wings and help in the clearing game, that'd be massive.

That’s really unbelievable.

It is what it is. More teams have overcome the second game lately. It’s obviously a deficit, but not impossible.

Virginia again. What a rivalry it’s become. The preeminent one in the sport. Think the Terps have a good shot. It’ll need to be the big guns having incredible days again, but believe they can do so. UVA could be very taxed coming off today’s game as well.

Would be an unbelievable accomplishment for this team to get to Memorial Day. Maybe this year it’ll all level out for em after some tough weekends as a favorite

For as impressive as Tills' run has been, what Buddy did in his 10 years at Maryland is just absurd.

Beardmore was a great coach, but it's fair to remember that in his day it was an 8-team NCAA tournament.

He was a good judge of talent. He cut me. Maybe that’s why I became a coach. Sort of a variation on the old “those who can’t do, teach.”
Not too many recall that before settling in at his Alma mater, Buddy briefly coached at UVA.

Bingo. What are the stats for teams that had to win 2 games to get to the final 4? Then beyond that, and it's not quantifiable but a real thing, what are the stats in a competitive field that had more than 4-6 consistently top programs in the country (like probably 1997 and beyond, maybe even later)?

Only coaches with more Final Fours than Tills are Simmons Jr, Tierney, Starsia, and Danowski.

4 of Simmons Jr were in the 8 team tournament era, 1 came in the 10 team tournament (which lasted one year), and 12 came in the 12 team tournament era. Obviously he made the 16 straight after 83.

8 of Tierney's were in the 12 team tournament era and 6 were in the 16 tournament era (out of 20 possible seasons.)

6 of Starsia's were in the 12 team tournament, and 7 were in the 16 team tournament (out of 14 possible seasons.)

All of Danowski's 12 have been in the 16 team tournament (out of 17 possible seasons at Duke.)

Tillman has 10 Final Fours in 13 possible tries at Maryland. It's 10 in 16 if you count the Harvard years.

It's a remarkable run and within this era, really only Danowski has a comparable run. Lars certainly looks on pace for it but it's hard to achieve. Petro had one cooking for a time and fell off. Starsia never felt like he would miss and then they won in 2011 and never got back.

McNaney made a bunch of saves in the first half that kept the game in reach. Nothing spectacular, but shots that easily could have scored and not been criticized as soft.

To beat UVA, the offense needs to score on the bunnies (#4 at the doorstep on a man up is the most obvious, but there were a few other wide open looks that just missed everything). At least put the ball on goal.

Hypothetically thinking....would Trader showing up on Saturday help or hurt? Just a thought. Over weeks of preparation he would obviously be a huge asset, but I assume it would be a disaster at this time frame

Is Trader practicing with the team? He would almost certainly be a major asset. Maybe even on second midfield and not just defense.
