I didn't watch most of this tournament. But apparently yesterday/last evening, there was a complete sh*tshow at the stadium with fans breaching the security barriers and getting into the stadium.

Thank you for sharing that blurb - on the surface it may look benign but it is horrible to say the very least.

How can these people not remember El Salvador last year, Indonesia just a couple of years ago, or Hillsborough? Goodness sake, it's just a friggin game! The idea of losing one's life over all this is just so stupid! Thankfully, the Miami police did its job and prevented what could have been a major catastrophe:

Let's hope that the next time there is such an international event, that this time police and security will create a zone outside of the stadium where only those with tickets or other form of entry can enter. Then once inside that perimeter, they can use whatever gates there are to enter the stadium. As bad as it was, the injuries were (thankfully) at a minimum.

Caught a promo of next weeks Arsenal v Aston Villa game billed as a London derby. Unfortunately, Aston Villa is in Birmingham, 120 miles away. How did that get through!

I guees you could say that the USA network is off its A game.

Small sample, still very early days, but it seems that thus far VAR isn't being used as badly by the EPL as in previous sesaons; fewer 5-minute game stoppages for reiterated checking of the video. Or am I just imagining things?

Everton started off losing by three at home to Brighton, then lost 4-nil at Spurs; plus, they're thinking of selling Calvert-Lewin. Might the Toffees get relegated when this season closes?

Everton sure looks doomed and some good players may look to jump ship. Maybe they need a re-set.

Man United looks like the same as last year. Can’t grind it out. Meanwhile, Brighton keeps winning even though they churn through the losses of coaches and talent.

Rice's red card almost surely cost Arse two points, and Declan will miss the North London Derby at Tottenham. Spurs need a true striker in the line-up. Gut-wrenching loss for Everton, and the Toffees look an early candidate for relegation. Perhaps Liecester will stay up.

The second yellow on Rice was one of the most ridiculous calls ever seen, but a careless act by Rice nonetheless. A top team would have held on to the lead or added another. This has the look of another City title.

Everton looks to be a sure thing for relegation. Horrible start and Saturdays loss will certainty haunt them.

I would have liked to have seen Newcastle add more to their roster, but they’re still an entertaining team to watch.

Man U needs to get a grip that they are no longer the team of Ferguson. That era is over. Still don’t understand why they retained 10 Hag. They never seem to play for each other for 90 or be in sync.

I think Man U kept Ten Hag because the Red Devils won the FA Cup (beat Man City in the final, no less), and because the powers that be couldn't find anyone they liked better. But geez, Poch!? Man U's loss is the USMNT's gain.

What did you think of the second yellow on Rice?

I'm very biased, and was glad to see him sent off. I've certainly seen yellow cards given for what Rice did, and to his credit he didn't cry and complain about it the way Arteta did.

Putting aside Man U's troubles, I did think Liverpool looked really good yesterday.

Very creditable and important win for Arse, considering the midfield absences and that it was a North London Derby visit to Tottenham High Road. After starting last season so impressively, Spurs are looking very mediocre this campaign (I might even stop my Peacock Premium subscription; we'll see). The surprise of the weekend had to have been Forest's win at Liverpool. A come-from-behind win at Wolves puts Newcastle third, and even on points with second-place Arse. Wow, Everton yet again blow a 2-goal lead to lose 3-2, this time at Villa Park. That leaves Everton with zero points, joint bottom dwellers with Southampton. Can Everton take anything from next weekend's visit to just-promoted Leicester? It's still early days, but if not... Oh yah, Man City won again this weekend. Next weekend City will be hosting Arse, who will be glad to have Rice back. Will this be a dull chess match, or an entertaining footy match?
