Dodging as usual.

The truth is that the only alternative to the Obama plan is all-out first-strike war NOW.

Is that the show you're going to enjoy watching?
The show we are all going to get is the Iranian government will in the near future have nuclear tipped ICBM missiles. Is that the show you will enjoy watching? Is that the show the Israeli's will enjoy watching? Is that the show that the Saudi's will enjoy watching? Is that the show that makes the Middle East a more stable area of the world? Trump supposedly as we chit chat may be considering a plan to do something. That would sure put the Kibosh on any of Bidens plans to resume normal relations with Iran. I don't think it would be very effective but it would make the Iranians very upset. That is not a problem because the US has a lot of C130s and a lot of gold and cold hard cash. What better way to say we are sorry than with cold hard cash. It worked once it will probably work again.
We gave them their money back.
[/quote]

And the folks in DC never thought that the US Government had a lien on the money for all carnage and death and destruction the Iranian's created with the IEDs they sent into Iraq to kill and maim our service members? Why did they not take our case to the world court and demand restitution from the Iranians? We could have dragged that out for decades. When do we get our money back from the Iranians?

The USA has never given Iran restitution for the harm it caused in the 1953 coup.

So much for the "Doomsday scenario" that Trump wont allow for a peaceful transition. And so much for the Democrats who wanted a "peaceful transition:"

All the personal threats against the election officials in Michigan, Arizona, Pennsylvania and others don't count. It's only the other side that's bad.

If you try to rob the bank, it still is an attempted bank robbery even if you fail to crack the vault.

Or more closely- If you walk into your bank and tell them to give you $10k, but you don’t have that in your account, (and you can’t prove that their accounting system is flawed) they won’t give you sh1t.

But they will show you to the door.

This is quite a stretch to suggest Trump is allowing for a peaceful transition.
He's still carrying on like a baby and conceding nothing. He's running out of
far fetched law suits but he's still throwing Hail Maries.

Come on Dmac. Trump isn’t activating the military like many in the left speculated. The fear porn scenarios released prior to the election are not happening. He’s gonna leave office. He’s not blocking anyone. Transition is occurring around him...without his help. What help was he gonna provide, anyway? His legal Hail Marys are falling flat. He’s exhibiting no class Like usual And poor sportsmanship. Surprise, surprise. This woman was waiting for due process. The overblown calls of the downfall of democracy are all overblown.

I wouldn't disagree with any of this, but I wouldn't define that as a peaceful transition.
A transition happening in spite of him isn't quite the way it's supposed to go. Am sticking
with Gottfried.

Fair enough. I agree with Gottfried’s take too.

Trump has always been an jerk. But being a sore loser jerk and difficult does not meet the definition of a violent transition.

A small number of Republican patriots have saved us from Trump's coup: the Georgia SecState, one (but not both!) of the two Republican members of the Michigan state elections board, that conservative Republican Federal Judge in PA (appointed by Obama!).

And I have to acknowledge Bill Barr, who has held his fire. He was the key to all this.

But we were definitely on the edge. There was no way to be sure, in advance, how it was going to go.

It's a sad but funny tale that "hey, it's not that violent of a transition" is now the bar that's been set by Republicans... with 2 months left. Nothing like this in 100+ years.

StopTheCount.... KeepCounting

The head doesn't know what the tail is doing. And they're blaming everything on the other side.

What “violence” are you concerned about?

Not sure what "good grief" means here. But we all know that if the President could have accomplished the coup, he would have, and his Republican toadies, given the right cover, would have gone along. That may be the biggest lesson of the 2020 general election: there is a core group of Republicans in Congress who would trade democracy for the exercise of power and office.

Disagree with you here 100%. The trump republican toadies can't wait to see trump exit stage left. trump was never one of them, trump was a speed bump in the middle of the road. What the trump toadies should be doing is driving a stake through his heart to make sure he loses any influence in the republican party. trump was NEVER one of them. The farther down the road they get from trump the happier they will be. Trumps up and coming legal issues will be all they need to finally wash their hands of him. The only problem the republicans will have then is that they are still republicans at the end of the day.
